Hi all,
Just read a sad story about a dog dying in the heat in Brisbane after being tied to a clothesline without shade or water.

These tips below were in that story.
Pet tips for hot weather:
• If you can't leave your hand on the path or bitumen for more than five seconds, it's too hot for your dog
• Walk your dog in the early morning or late afternoon when it's cooler
• Be cautious walking your pooch on surfaces that conduct heat such as pavers, concrete, bitumen and sand
• Some breeds such as bulldogs are more predisposed to heat stress
• Supply water and shade as well as cooling pads or ice blocks
• Avoid taking dogs in the car or have the windows down or place them near air-con vents
• Don't exert dogs on hot days
A pet owner could face criminal charges after a dog which was tied to a backyard clothesline and left without shade or water died of heat exhaustion.
