No Matter how many times people are reminded, it is never enough as there are still people who insist on leaving their pets in their cars - this is another reminder DO NOT leave your pet in your car even though you are in the shade and DO NOT take your pet for a walk in the heat
Keep your pets safe in the heat! 🐾 ☀️
An Extreme Heatwave warning has been issued for southern and central Queensland
Warning level: EMERGENCY WARNING
Our furry friends need extra care to stay cool and safe. Here are some tips to help your pets beat the heat:
✅ Keep Them Hydrated – Always provide plenty of fresh, clean water. Consider adding extra water bowls around your home.
🏠 Create a Cool Space – Let them stay inside or find a shaded, ventilated area outdoors. A fan or cooling mat can work wonders too!
🚫 Avoid Hot Pavements – If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Stick to early morning or evening walks when it’s cooler.
🚗 NEVER Leave Pets in Cars – Temperatures can skyrocket in minutes, even with the windows down.
❄️ Cool Treats – Frozen pet-safe treats or ice cubes in their water can be a fun way to keep them cool.
🐶 Watch for Signs of Heat Stress – Look out for excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy. If you’re worried, contact your vet immediately.
