Eggcellent Eggs 15 Minute Farmer Time!

This month’s resources are designed for students in Foundation- Year 2 with a focus on the features and needs of chickens.

15 Minute Farmer Time resources include:

- A pre-recorded VIC Farmer Time session with Farmer Danyel exploring the features and needs of the chickens on her egg farm.

-15 minutes’ worth of accompanying activities centred on the food and fibre curriculum for your students to complete.

These sessions are fun, quick and engaging. The perfect way to incorporate food and fibre into your remote learning timetable, or within the classroom.

Our response to the recent US study published in PLOSMEDICINE

Like everything, eggs can be consumed along with a well balanced diet including exercise to sustain a healthy life.

The heart foundation & dietician Sharon Natoli both agree that we can feel reassured about enjoying eggs and there’s many contributing factors to those with higher cholesterol rather than just the humble egg.

So in the meantime we’re enjoying eggs for lunch 🥚

Our eggs are stored in large cool rooms approx 14 degrees. We usually suggest storing your eggs in a dry cool pantry but With the hot weather in full swing we suggest if your house fluctuates temperature or you’re concerned about the heat- Store your eggs in the fridge in their packaging. 🥚

Our small vans deliver daily to our local community butchers, bread shops, cafes/restaurants, fruiters and more.
We deliver approx 100,000 eggs to these businesses every week!

3rd & 4th Generation Egg Farmers swapping out for some strawberry farming & picking 🍓
We can definitely appreciate how difficult berry picking actually is and hope The Government will assist with the labour shortage across our farming sectors. Until then maybe we will keep supporting our local berry farms and pick our own 💜

I’ve never been so excited & nervous to say I’ve been voted in as the new Victorian Farmers Federation Vice President. I’m beyond grateful to have an amazing team & support network who have helped me get to such an honorable position. It will be an incredible 2 years having the opportunity to fight for our rights as farmers and tackle the big issues. Thank you to my dad who has seen my potential and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I cannot wait to see what the future holds in this position and thank every farmer who voted for me

In 2016 I took my first solo flight to NSW to discuss issues in the Egg Industry with some amazing young farmers. I never would have thought when I took that flight I’d be running for VP of Victorian Farmers Federation 4 years later. 🤷‍♀️
But here we are- with my face on a flyer 😂
