DONATION UPDATE - today your kind donations of tick, worming and flea treatments were passed on to the ACT Pet Crisis Support team.

These treatments will be used as part of their Tiny Vet Clinic. The Tiny Vet Clinic brings veterinary services to those who may have trouble accessing veterinary care due to a lack of funds.

Pet owners with a Health Care card can visit the Tiny Vet Clinic in Kambah, Ainslie and Karabar.

The Tiny Vet Clinic is supported by volunteers and donations (big and small). Head to www actpetcrisis.com to find out more!

There's a few more hot days in the forecast so we've put together a few tips to help your pup to keep cool!

Many dogs are not big fans of fireworks but you can help make New Years and Summernats (for those of us on the Northside) be a little less scary for your pup. These tips are also helpful for thunderstorms.

🐶 Bring your dog inside and make sure they have access to somewhere they feel safe (e.g. a crate or their bed)
🐶 Close the blinds or curtains to block the view and dampen the noise
🐶 Put on some calming tunes to help your dog to relax and block some of the noise outside - we love using playlists with titles like Calming Puppy Music, Classical Chill, Lofi Chill or Acoustic Covers
🐶Use some gentle calming scents such as lavender and chamomile. Remember your dog has a sensitive nose so a little scent goes a long way
🐶 Some dogs find a Thundershirt comforting. These are available at most pet stores.
🐶 Also at the pet store - pheromone sprays, collars or diffusers can also create a calming environment (Adaptil for dogs and Feliway for cats)

Donations can be dropped off during business hours (8:00am-5:30pm Mon-Thu) until 15 December. Please make sure any second hand items are clean and in good condition, and that any food items are in unopened packaging.

Items can be for dogs, cats, birds or pocket pets. All donations will be provided to local animal charities to support their amazing programs.

We will also happily accept items any time throughout the year to be passed on to local animal groups.

Our pups confidently tackled an agility course today! A few small jumps, a tunnel, a couple of tubs to walk on and some paws up on a wobbly surface. Nothing fazed them and we couldn't be prouder 💚🐶

A few tips on helping your pup to stay cool this summer!

These seeds are all green now but very soon they will dry out and stick to everything, including puppy fur.

It's always great to regularly check your pup for grass seeds and remove them as soon as possible. If these seeds get into the paw pads they can bury in deep and be very painful.

Some signs your pup might have something stuck is biting, licking or scratching an area or limping.
