2025 AUTUMN Australian Working Stock Dog Auction
7th-12th March 2025

LOT 303 CRAIGLEA EARL
Craiglea Earl. 10-month-old Border Collie male.
By Craiglea Mack (AI), out of Craiglea Ruby. Double cross of Swan Spud, an outstanding all-round work and trial dog. 2 x Australian Working Cattle Dog of the Year, among many other achievements.
Earl’s sire, Craiglea Mack is currently my main dog, only just turned 3 years old. An excellent dog on cattle and sheep, particularly cows and calves. His calm, clean, nose bite is outstanding. Mack has done very little trialling, but he did place at his 2-year-old QLD Cattle Dog Futurity.
Earl’s dam, Craiglea Ruby is 7 years old, and been a very reliable work dog. She has spent her life working cattle and sheep, including cows and calves. She has won and placed in many cattle dog trials. She bites the nose and is very trainable. We have successfully sold several of Ruby’s progeny via auction, including Craiglea Ross (AI), who is a ¾ brother to Earl. Ross topped the 2024 AWSDA Winter sale as a yearling. Ruby’s dam, Bells Willow also topped the 2022 Geurie sale as a 6-year-old.
Earl has been started on sheep and dry cattle. We recently moved interstate, so Earl received next to no exposure to stock or training for multiple months, until the time of the videos at 10 months old. He has picked up where he left off and is progressing well.
Earl is a good natured, later maturing type. He is still a big pup. Smooth coat, traditionally marked, black and white. One blue eye.
Earl doesn’t work with a lot of eye, but he is keen, and has progressed easily with very little formal training. He has worked sheep since a pup, and has had a couple of sessions on young, dry cattle. He loves getting out and having a go. Earl has a nice, soft stop and decent call off. He has ridden a side by side and a four-wheeler (still learning). We have retained a litter sister for further training.
Earl is a genuine prospect.

LOT 302 CRAIGLEA TRAVIS (AI)
Craiglea Travis (AI). 9-month-old Border Collie male.
AI pup by J Crazy J Sam, out of Craiglea Abby (AI).
Travis’ sire, J Crazy J Sam is owned by Tony Jetensky, Nebraska USA. Sam is a leggy, stout, smooth coated Border Collie male. He is an outstanding cow dog, that works all classes of livestock, and has trialled successfully. He also has progeny working very well in the USA. There are many excellent videos of Sam working on Facebook. Search for J Crazy J Stockdogs and Tony Jetensky. We are very excited to see what Sam can do as an outcross sire in Australia.
Travis’ dam, Craiglea Abby is 4 years old, and is a very reliable work dog. She has spent her life working cattle and sheep, including cows and calves. Abby has won and placed in multiple cattle dog trials. She won her 3-year-old QLD Cattle Dog Derby, and the Cow Dog Challenge at the Australian Championships at Scone in 2023. She is stylish, bites both ends, is very pushy but trainable. Silent worker.
Travis has been started on sheep and dry cattle. We recently moved interstate, so Travis received next to no exposure to stock or training for multiple months, until the time of the videos at 9 months old. He has picked up where he left off and is progressing well.
Smooth coat, traditionally marked, tri colour.
Travis doesn’t work with a lot of eye, but he is very keen, and has progressed easily with very little formal training. He has worked sheep since a pup, and has had a couple of sessions on young, dry cattle. Travis has a decent stop and call off, still a work in progress. He has ridden a side by side and a four-wheeler (still learning). Travis has an independent temperament. He lives to work, not for a pat. At least not from me anyway! He will thrive under some one-on-one attention and training.
Travis was the only male in the litter. This is a great opportunity to purc

First family ride... trying to explore the top of the mountain.
Super proud of the ponies, pulled from the paddock after months and navigating terrain they would never have dreamed of being born & bred on the Western Downs!

Craiglea Mack - 21 Months
Our latest video is Mack at 21 months old, and what he has been up to at work for the month.
Mack has had some more mustering on cows and calves, plenty of dry cattle work, and some little jobs on ewes and lambs, which he hasn't had a lot of yet.
Mack is improving out of sight!

Craiglea Mack - 22 Months
We are back with Mack this week, in the small training paddock. He is 22 months old in this video, and we are tidying up his outrun and doing a bit of driving.
You may have noticed that most of the recent content has been with Mack. This is by design. Mack is the first dog that we have been able to film from the very beginning.
We have watched Mack -
1. From his very first look at sheep
2. Learn his obedience
3. Progress through the round yard, arena and training paddocks
4. Transition to real work including dry cattle and sheep
5. His first cattle dog trial
6. His first look at cows and calves!
As our database of videos builds, we would like to be able to show multiple dogs from the very beginning, to the very end, in a structured format. As time rolls by, we will include various dogs, that have different strengths and weaknesses.
