Henny Penny (Penny or HP) the sweetest cat you'll ever meet. She's a little shy, quiet and low maintenance as she does her own thing and loves to snooze under blankets (because its safe in there 😉)
Homes with too much loud noise would likely cause her distress as she likes the quieter life.
But she would be your perfect match if you want a cat that is happy to keep herself entertained, watching out a window or having a nap and even cuddle with you in bed once she comfortable with you.
HP is good with other cats though generally doesn't engage much so would likely do well alone!
You don't know "cute" until you see her beautiful face, ear tufts & hear her little meow.

Come meet George, Muffin and Crumpets and say Hi to the STCR crew
What to expect if you're coming to the a STCR Whiskers and Wine 2024 event.
😺Happy International Rescue Cat Day😺
STCR rescues cats from all sorts of circumstances.
Some come to us after a change in their owner's situation, some are left behind by people who no longer want them, some are callously dumped in remote areas, others are living in overcrowded, horrific hoarding situations.
All tug at our heartstrings and we do our best to help these cats regain their health and confidence. We always hope that we can find the perfect home for all our cats. There are some that take a bit more time and require a lot of patience to get them to trust humans again. Some end up staying in our care for the rest of their lives.
Stripes came to us recently as his elderly owner could no longer care for him. Stripes is elderly himself, 20 years old. That's around 97 in human years! Despite that, he is a sweet little fellow, in good condition, who loves a chat😁. Even though we have a lot of cats and kittens in care at the moment, and high vet bills, we could not ignore his situation.
We would love to find him a cosy home for the rest of his life, he deserves that much.
Little Spencer turns 1 today!
This special boy was a real charmer and a biscuit machine right from the beginning and after a rough start has blossomed into a handsome young man hoping to finally find his forever home tomorrow at Mitre 10!
On what might be his last day in care with us, we'd love to share this most adorable video of baby Spence first learning to bake at just 4 weeks old 🥹
Look at Fliss go! 😻
This absolute SUPERSTAR kitten is thriving post-surgery thanks to the wonderful care of her awesome foster family and the whole team at The Cat Clinic Hobart ❤️
Rescue can be so challenging and heartbreaking a lot of the time but when things go right it can make all the stress and worry we carry every day feel just a little bit lighter.
We are still asking for help to cover Fliss's medical costs however, as this beautiful little girl has racked up quite a bill we weren't expecting in the middle of a very busy kitten season 😬 If you can spare anything to help, please click the link below and know that it will make a huge difference in the lives of cats and kittens in need, just like Fliss! 😺

Can you help little Fliss?
We may only be two days into 2024, but it's already proving to be a hard one for our smallest kitten 😿
Abandoned at only 6 weeks old just before Christmas, it was pure luck that Fliss was found and not left to suffer. Initially a pocket rocket, we noticed her development was veering off what's normal for kitten her age. Today our sweet little girl was seen by the wonderful staff at The Cat Clinic Hobart but sadly it appears she is suffering from Pectus Excavatum. This condition, also known as "sunken chest," affects the shape of the chest and can cause breathing difficulties. Without proper treatment, this little one's quality of life will be greatly impacted.
To provide the best care possible, we need to raise $1500. These funds will go towards X-rays, tests, and exploring surgery options for Fliss, the first of which is scheduled for tomorrow. We're not sure what her prognosis will be yet but this sweet girl deserves the best we can provide her. By contributing, you will be directly helping Fliss receive the necessary medical attention and increase her chances of a healthy, happy future.
At Southern Tas Cat Rescue Inc, we pride ourselves on our commitment to transparency and accountability. Rest assured that every dollar donated will be used solely for the purpose of providing medical care to our rescues. We understand the importance of your trust and promise to keep you updated on the progress of this precious girl that hasn't stopped biscuiting since she came to us ❤️

We'll be at Huonville Mitre 10 on bbq duty on December 2nd. We will also have available cats that are ready for adoption in store.
If you're out and about stop on by and grab a snag, say hi to our lovely volunteers and give some attention to the cats.
Donations welcome. All proceed go straight to desexing and rehabilitating the cats and kittens in our care.
What are big brothers for? When they're not tumbling around like typical chaotic teenage boys, Hotch and Spencer enjoy a lazy afternoon just like the rest of us 💕
Interested in fostering? We want to hear from you! If you live south of Hobart and have a passion for helping kitties, get in touch with STCR and we can answer any questions you have. Whether you're available for a month or a year, fostering is super rewarding and the backbone of a rescue organsation.
What a fantastic day at Bunnings Kingston today 😃
All our cats were adopted and we sold lots of sausages and drinks😊
Congratulations to our kitties and their new families.
Lucky brothers Lynx and Orion were adopted together ❤️
