10month old Kindee after her one on one class to get her started on some training ahead of her adoption next week! 🥰
READY FOR ADOPTION!!!!
Massimo is a 12week old Bull Arab x who is looking for a loving home to call his own.
This young man is currently living with 3 big dogs that he adores, so having another doggy companion in his new home is a must.
Massimo is a super affectionate little guy who loves his humans (kids especially) and would prefer a home where they are around more often than not. When he’s not playing, he wants nothing more than to cuddle up to you or his furry friends for naps.
Massimo is a very intelligent puppy who enjoys and would benefit from continued training. He has already learned to walk well on lead, sit and drop. He is also 95% toilet trained and crate trained.

Indi had a class with her incredible mum AND grandma to make sure we get on top of some new dominant behaviours 😇
Harriet is a very shy little girl who’s learning the world isn’t as scary as it seems 🌎
Mo is learning how to walk calmly on lead and relax indoors in his new home 🏡
He is your typical cute puppy that unfortunately didn’t get any training growing up so is doing all the catch up now at 20months old!
Ari is a 3year old rescue who’s learning not all humans are scary and that she doesn’t need to protect her mum out walking 😇🥰
Here he is!!! 😍😍
Unbelievable transformation by Wensleydale!
My very ambitious aim ahead of this two day bootcamp was to have him at a group class by the end of day two and I’ll be honest, i didn’t think we’d make it 😅
So incredibly proud of this little boy!! ♥️
Training and healing dogs from past trauma is not always easy (particularly with rescues when you don’t know exactly) but my god does it feel amazing to see the work pay off and watch a dog move forward without fear, anxiety or insecurity.
Thank you to the amazing training team at SOS Obedience Knoxfield for having us and making this positive socialisation experience possible ☺️
You wouldn’t know it but two days ago Wensleydale (right or smaller version of Rocco) was highly dog reactive… squealing, growling, lunging and trying to attack out of fear!
Day 1 Wensleydale met Rocco and Vinny at home so he could learn that not all dogs are threats. He completely relaxed around them and even started wagging his tail at them by the end of the day 🥰
Day 2 was a pack walk with the gang. We walked passed a few dogs and the reactivity had improved just by watching his fellow pack members keep their cool. By the end of the day we decided Wensleydale would benefit from attending a group obedience class!!
Head to the next post to see how he went 😇
Milo after a class on being calm, particularly to stop barking when mum is out 😇
Dog lovers show today with my Egg 😍
There are so many dogs in rescue right now in need of a home 🏡 particularly post covid lockdowns, so if you’re looking for a dog to add to your family please consider adopting one 🐶
Millie is going to be a big sister 👶 so is learning to be calm around food at the ripe old age of 12! 😇
Merlot after her puppy class to make sure she grows up to be the best girl 😇🥰
Billie recently found her forever home 🏡 and is learning to be calm and relaxed with her new humans 👨👩👦
Nixon is having training to make sure he’s going to the best influence and brother for a future addition to the pack 🐶🐶
Chiku is learning to be calm out walking and around his new baby brothers 👨👩👦👦
Raffa relaxing after the calmest walk he’s been on with his mom and dad 🤩
Here’s to many many more!!
Mia and Milo are the perfect example of how different dogs can manifest and express anxiety in very different ways 😥
Lucky for these two though, their mum and dad are on to the training to make sure they both experience calm instead 😌
Big beautiful Diesel was getting way too excited out walking seeing other dogs, so is now learning to walk in a calm state of mind 🧘♂️😍
Fair to say Snoopy did amazing in his first class 🤩🤩🤩
We were able to achieve this walking in just a single class because Snoopy is not a natural “pack leader” at all, so once his parents took control, he was more than happy to follow their lead 😌
The truth is all dogs are wired to follow a pack leader so we can always teach them to walk like this. If you’re having any issues walking your dog, book in a class to improve your walk immediately 😁
At just over a year old and already 55kg 😅 Memphis is learning to walk calmly on lead 🦮
Luna is your stereotypical pug who LOVES food 🍗🥕🍖🥦🦴
It took us some time to win the food exercise in class but Luna finally relaxed and experienced eating in a calm state of mind for the first time in her life 😂
Here’s to not scoffing or inhaling food anymore 😌
Foster dog training today for both these cuties today 😍
Their amazing foster mum is working to help Furiosa (2yr Staffy mix) with some anxiety out walking and little Huffle (11week old Bull Arab mix) is learning to be calm eating 😇
Broadsmith is back!
Unfortunately Broadsmith was returned and has been back in care for the last two months doing LOTS of training.
He had regressed almost to when he first came here in 2020 but the good news is he is now better than ever and almost ready for adoption again! 😁
Watch this space if you’re interested in adopting a smoochy inside cat(dog) that sleeps most of the day 🥰
Buck has recently found his forever home and is finally getting the rules and boundaries he needs 🙏🏻
I got to work with Buck’s awesome parents with their first rescue, so it was a delight to help them with this young man👨👩👦

While most dogs have absolutely loved having us home full time for the last couple of years, many have been impacted by the long periods of isolation… So if your dog needs to catch up on basics or help with new “antisocial” behaviour, we are here to help! Please contact us if you have any questions or you can book online through the website! ☺️ www.thegoodhoundcompany.com.au
So impressed with Hunter (cattle dog), who I saw a few months ago to help him with his anxiety and reactivity out walking 🤩 #proudtrainermoment This time we focused on the whole pack dynamic… enter Binx 🐕🦺 and making sure we’re all calm and relaxed together 👨👩👦👦 #packwalk #squadgoals
#pupdate Zelda is the little brindle and white #bullterrier you can see running around in that video. She originally came into care with us because she wasn’t good around other dogs… fast forward and not only did she find an incredible home but she LOVES a run around the dog park 🤩🤩 #successstory 🐶 @zeldasharkbait @startingoverdogrescue
Meet Nosmo our newest foster dog who is almost ready for adoption after a HUGE transformation in just 10 days! From crazy overexcited to this 🥰 He’s an 8month old Poodle x Australian Shepherd who’s going to make an awesome pet with continued training. #watchthisspace #adoptme @startingoverdogrescue
The beautiful NOCELLA is ready for adoption! When I first went out to work with Nocella it was pulling and lead reactivity... This is a month later and she’s finally ready for adoption. Credit to her amazing carer who’s obviously been putting in all the hard work 🤩 Head to @startingoverdogrescue to apply! #adoptme #progressshot
Update on Broadsmith, who has been one of the most challenging dogs I’ve ever worked with... from severe anxiety to compulsive behaviours to extreme dominance and slight aggression this poor boy has obviously been through some seriously tough things in life! Today he is almost* a new man! In the past week we’ve seen some serious breakthroughs with him being calm and relaxed for whole days at a time (no tantrums, barking, squealing, whinging or biting) and the fact that in 5 weeks we’re onto off lead practice is incredible! This sweet and seriously misunderstood boy has really tested all my training/knowledge/experience/abilities and reminded me why I do what I do!! #watchthisspace because Broadsmith will be looking for a very special home soon 🏡 Starting Over Dog Rescue Mc 978101082595028
