Exciting news, we have a new website 🌟

After stepping back from the dog walking earlier this year there has been lots of thought into where I would like my little business to go and my absolute favourite clients to work with are puppies 🐾 ❤️

Going forward we will be focusing mainly on at home puppy set up and training sessions alongside running puppy classes for . Those early stages with our puppies are so important and the more we can set both ourselves and our puppies up for success right from the beginning the better our lives with our beautiful furry friends get to be!

It seemed only right to update our branding and website and therefore going forward will be running under Amanda the Puppy Trainer 😊

Meet Cleo 🥰

I met with Cleo for a consultation as like lots of adolescent dogs she gets very excited when visitors come to her house which normally results in lots of jumping up.

In our session we worked through setting up a routine to follow when visitors are coming over including some new management and lots of reinforcement from Cleo’s mum.

Cleo has shown lots of improvement since our session and has even managed to not jump up when some of her favourite humans have been to visit 👏🏻

I’ve got lots of cute doggy photos to catch up on posting ❤️ this is Stormy. I spent two months working with her before Christmas on some hyper arousal issues and she really came on leaps and bounds. Stormy is such a happy girl so was a lot of fun to work with 😊

Lovely to catch up with Milo and his mum last week! The first time I met Milo he didn’t want me anywhere near him but with time and patience I think it’s safe to say we are now friends 🥰 we’ve made a few tweaks when it comes to guests entering Milo’s home as the front door is a huge trigger for him and with a new routine he is finding it much easier to have people over!

How gorgeous is this sweet girl?

Today I met Reggie and her mum for their introductory session. Reggie was unfortunately attacked by a dog a few months ago and since then her confidence outside on walks has been rapidly decreasing. We are putting a few lifestyle tweaks in place to start with and are going to focus on building that confidence up slowly so Reggie can get back to her happy self again ❤️

Catching up on some photos from before I went away! I had my last walk and train session with the happiest dog in the world, Simba ❤️ we’ve had a lot of fun together the last few months and he has improved so much with his leash walking and general calmness.

Welcome Lani 🐕

I met Lani on Saturday for an initial consult to work on her recall. Lani is a whippet. Whippets are members of the sighthound family made up of super speedy hunting dogs who are also notorious for being very independent which can make getting a reliable recall a little trickier.

We discussed ways to figure out Lani’s best motivator which we can then use to reward her recall. We also spoke about management while she is learning and introduced a new recall cue as Lani has already learned to ignore her old one.

Looking forward to hearing about her progress 😊

Easy Enrichment Idea

Here’s a super easy enrichment idea to spice up your dogs dinner time. Grab a box from your recycling and pop in a big handful of your dogs dinner. Close it up and voila! This kept Duke entertained for a good 15minutes, encouraged him to use his brain to problem solve and now he’s pooped 😴
