Scruffer Lovers Inc. is a registered charitable organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation of dogs. Scruffer Lovers Inc.

Scruffer Lovers was founded in 2006, to assist the Murray Bridge council pounds in rehoming pound dogs rather than the dogs being euthanised. Fast forward to 2021, our base is now in metropolitan Adelaide and we take in dogs from all over South Australia as far as the APY Lands and down to the Eyre Peninsula. We take in dogs with varying behavioural issues and work alongside Veterinary Behaviouris

ts, Behavioural Trainers and accredited trainers to ensure positive outcomes for these dogs. Our large foster carer base enables us to place dogs in loving homes with experienced foster carers who work with us to prepare the dogs for their forever homes. We have veterinarians who assist us with microchipping, vaccinations and health checks. They also assist us with the dogs who have medical issues, and their support enables us to achieve good medical outcomes. Some dogs come to us with a terminal illness, and we place them in medical foster homes to see out their lives in a loving home. When the time comes to have them put to sleep, their carers are there with them in their last moments. is constantly growing and reaching out to veterinarian specialists and training experts to assist us to rehabilitate all the dogs coming into rescue. We pride ourselves in the animal welfare standards that we uphold by ensuring each animal is treated as an individual whose needs are our top priority.

What has little white socks, long slender legs, a smile that melts hearts, and is looking for a forever home? That’d be me. Dusty. Hi!

I’m a Staffy, so you know I am smart and energetic. I’m 15 months old, so you know I am playful and lots of fun. And I have had all my vet work done, so I’m good to go when the right person comes along.

Who is the right person, you ask? Well, you might be! I don’t have a lot of special needs – just love and patience. If you can give me that, and some treats sometimes, a nice marrow bone for example, and take me for a walk, I reckon that’d do it.

I’m a really good boy. I promise! I don’t bark unless there’s a very very good reason. I walk nicely on a lead. I play nicely with others – even cats! Granted, I haven’t met a lot of other dogs yet, but so far so good. And I’m learning boundaries with kids.

I like being with people. I mean, that’s what life is all about, right? Togetherness? I like to sleep in your room so I don’t miss a moment of your morning. I’m an early riser. I don’t mind staying on my own for a while if I have to, but expect a full on welcome home!

Are you my right person? I think I could be your right dog.

Hii, my name is Hashbrown aka(boss)
Aren’t I the cutest thing you have ever seen I'm so full of love and cuddles and also love my playing I'm just starting to use my big boy voice when i want to play with you and my toys.

My foster parents say I'm like a mini human I love to cuddle up in bed with them or my foster human siblings,
So, when it comes to kids it is a big tick there! I have been around a 4-year-old, 5-year-old and 6-year-old, one of my foster human brothers are a special needs child and I just love and adore him so much, I'm so gentle.

I love to chew my toys that's a big thing for me. I'm also great around other dogs, so big yes when it comes to other mates to play with.
I’m toilet training still but love to be encouraged to go out side to do my business.

I'm full of love and cuddles to give I love my walks as i have just started my adventure walking with a harness and lead.

I can’t wait to meet you.

Medical Needs
Hashbrown has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. There is no arthritic change currently, but this will develop over time. With good management, most dogs can live comfortable lives and avoid hip replacement.

With controlled exercise to improve muscle mass which pull the joint tighter, weight control- lean dog! To reduce damage to cartilage and pain. Joint protectants i.e. zydax, 4 cyte and glyde are all beneficial.

Neo needs to get out of the pound!! NEO 18 MOMTHS OLD MALE MIXED BREED Foster or Foster to Adopt I have in the pound since September that's a long time isn't and Scruffer Lovers really want to help me out. Hi I am Neo and it’s very nice to meet you. Let me tell you a little about me. I am a young lad looking for his forever home. I did have one but unfortunately, they couldn’t look after me anymore. I was wondering if you would like to look after me? I am easily pleased and love spending time with people. I can get a little over excited and jumpy and would need some basic training to help with that, something that wasn’t able to be provided to me before. The carers at the pound have been helping me with this while I stay here so hopefully that will make things easier when I get to your house. I have been doing lead training also, as I was always trying to pull and take the lead but I am getting better at that too. I am willing to learn and I do listen very well and learning routine has become second nature to me. I love water play, if you pick up the hose I will be right there, so game on when it comes to watering your plants because you will have to water me too. I have also been known to jumpy quite high so high fencing will be a must. Sorry, but I just have bouncy legs! I have met some other dogs here and have been able to go on nice walks together. We now have carers!! URGENT FOSTER CARERS REQUIRED Hello, we’re Bonnie and Clyde and we need your help. We’re trying to bust our way out of the pound, but we need foster carers to help get us out! But our situation is urgent – as we did have rescue but unfortunately it fell through, and we need to get out of the pound by Sunday. As you can see, we are both loveable Bull Arab Cross puppies, aged around 10 to 12 weeks old. We love nothing more than chasing after a ball or playing tug of war. It would be better to be playing in a real home though! We can’t wait to show you what quick learners we are as well! We will have so much fun learning together! We would need to go into separate homes though. We would love to hang out with kids, but older kids would be best. We have also been vaccinated too.
