Mel and London had a rough relationship often characterized by frustration and mistrust, making Mel feel unsafe, especially from the ground.

We've worked extensively on fostering a positive attitude, balancing training sessions, and creating enjoyable, stress-free experiences for both.
Today, we've achieved a significant milestone:
Mel now feels confident enough to ride bitless, with full control and confidence.

This choice has made London more willing and cooperative during training sessions.
While the path to a perfect relationship is long and may not even exist, today marked a positive shift.

They now understand and consider each other, and what was once a source of frustration and stress has become a pleasure, allowing them to enjoy shared experiences together.

Standing on the mounting block, all I can think about is how magnificent it is to be beyond the connection with a horse that will, hopefully, one day have a happy life and meet the right people.

I always take these moments to be aware of the responsibility behind my approach, my touch, and my persuasion, allowing horses to believe that ours is a beautiful world to live in.

EDUCATION through a soft interaction, where we explored each other's boundaries and communicated simply in our own ways.

✅ Float training

🐴 Solly, a big, gentle and beautiful black horse, sold "cheap" because couldn't float.
On the truck to the new home he started to panic and so he hurted himself causing wounds that took a while to recover.

😊 Anita, the current owner, didn't give up!
She decided to help him and ask for support.

🛤️ The journey of float training hasn't been easy for him, he absolutely didn't want to load, feel confined and stay in a space with no freedom of movement.
Since the beginning was clear that the issue wasn't the float, was his confidence on himself and on the environment, the perception of his body and the control he didn't want to lose.
For the first few sessions the float was just there but we never approached, instead the focus was on his mindset, building the trust and start with little challenges he could face with success.
We started with a little outdoor space, like a crush that we built with the fence, and even if he could see around he wouldn't go in and stay.
Step by step, day by day he finally started to build confidence, feel "solid" and don't worry about the environment, until we got to the point he could walk on the float and stay for few seconds.

🤝 Today Solly it's the same big, gentle and beautiful black horse, with more awareness and confidence. He can easily and happily go on a float and wait until you whistle to come out.
Anita feel proud and relieved, she doesn't have to worry about his panic (and safety).
She can travel to equestrian centres and enjoy the journey on the road and more important she knows that in case of emergency she can float Solly and so save him!

👉 If you're facing some trouble with your horse, with the float, you have the feeling that you or your horse are not safe for some reason or you need support to build a better relationship, do not give up! THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE!

One of the busiest periods of my life and grateful to share this journey with special horses.

Alessandro Terlizzi (Alex)

Alessandro (Alex) is born on 24th of November 1987 in Pesaro (sea town on the central Italian east coast), currently on tour in Australasia.

He is an Italian horse whisperer, musician and globetrotter. Founder of Equuanship, an educative approach and method based on the roots of equine and human ethology, oriented to develop the human awareness in what is the essence of the experiences with horses.

He is currently dedicating himself in traveling around the globe to work with horses, sharing his knowledge, philosophy and methods through clinics and witnesses on his way.

He consider himself a “filter” between equine and human world, with the responsibility to help both sides to understand and respect each other as well as live positive experiences.
