Position Available – Veterinary Assistant

Carmyle Veterinary Services is a first class equine facility, which is set on 1,000 hectares. Located near Quirindi, NSW (50 minutes from Tamworth, NSW).

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Carmyle Veterinary Services specialises in equine reproduction, including artificial insemination, embryo flushing, embryo transfer and stallion collection for freezing and shipment. The team also focus on lameness issues; using x-ray and endoscopic examination, equine sports medicine, lameness work and rehabilitation.

The applicant must:

- Have a will to learn and progress in a busy setting

- Work well in a team environment

- Have extensive experience with horses of all ages and temperaments

Preferable but not essential, the applicant will:

- Hold a current Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Diploma in Animal Science

Duties include:

- Assisting the veterinarians in day to day tasks

- Setting up equipment

- Cleaning and restocking equipment

- Cleaning yards

- Handling horses, including our recipient mares

The successful applicant would be required to start as soon as possible. Assistance in finding accommodation can be arranged.

This year we have welcomed back a familiar face, Dr Selena Sylvester and Dr Marina Pensotti from Argentina. We feel very lucky to have two such skilled veterinarians with us. Work placement student, Jessie is also featured in this photo.
