Pooch Protocol is an independent dog training business located in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Our aim is to help owners and their dogs create an incredible bond and better understanding of one another through the power of positive based training. Pooch Protocol uses positive training methods which are scientifically proven and the most up to date training methods for animal behavior.
how to achieve the behaviors they want and don’t want from their dog
how to continue to train independently after a program is complete
We are extremely passionate about dogs emotional and physical well being. Positive based training helps owners and their dogs form a better understanding of what their dogs behavior means and what our behavior as people can mean to dogs and unknowingly affect their behavior.
Founded by Kate Cross who has always had a passion for animals of all kinds but especially dogs. Kate currently has her two dogs Roxy and Jax. Roxy is a 12 year old Pugaliar who’s entire life revolves around food and nanny naps. Jax is a 4 year old American Staffordshire X American Bulldog who loves toys, milk bottles and being the center of everyone's attention.
Kate completed a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Studies which is where she became fascinated with dog behavior and training. She then decided to pursue another certification through the Delta Society which is one of only two nationally accredited courses for behavioral based training which she will be completing in May this year. She also did work experience at the Victorian Police Dog squad in 2013 which was an amazing experience to be a part of.
Pooch Protocol is awaiting a permanent venue to conduct group classes from. We currently offer both programs as a 1:1 in-home package as well as our standard 1:1 private consultations. Both packages come with an owner’s manual which covers all content included in the package as well as handouts on specific subjects such as enrichment or crate training.
We strive to help owners and dogs form the best relationship possible through fun, force free training which the whole family can do (even the kids!)
