🔬 Perform NIR testing of feed products to ensure raw materials and finished products meet nutritional specifications.
🌾 Develop and maintain FeedSafe practices and accreditation.
✅ Follow good manufacturing and laboratory practices.
📋 Cross-train to perform QC inspections and checks of finished pharmaceutical products.
About You:
🦜Qualification in Animal Science / Veterinary Science / Food Science preferable.
🐾1-2 years experience in a similar QC role within the pet food / feed industry is also preferable.
🕛 Available to work full-time Monday to Friday.
🚗 Must have a current drivers licence and reliable transportation.

As many of us know, there has been an outbreak of Avian Influenza on poultry farms in Australia - in both Victoria and NSW.
What does this mean for bird owners? 🐦🐓
All bird owners must remain alert for any signs of avian influenza in their flocks. Backyard and free-range poultry owners should exercise extra caution, as their birds may be more likely to encounter infected wild birds.
Although avian influenza has not commonly affected pet birds like budgies and parrots in past Australian outbreaks, it is believed that all bird species are susceptible to HPAI H5N1. To protect birds from this virus, it is important to keep them sheltered and isolated from wild birds.
Signs of disease usually appear in several or all birds in a flock, including:
• Sudden death
• Lethargy or reluctance to walk, eat or drink
• Droopy appearance or ruffled feathers
• Head or limb swelling
• Bruising of the wattle, comb, feet or skin
• Respiratory signs such as panting, nasal discharge or sneezing
• Diarrhoea
• Unusual head or neck posture, incoordination, inability to walk or stand
• Unusual reduction in egg production.
It’s important to note that many of these symptoms can also be indicative of other medical issues and disease, making it very important to consult with your veterinarian.
In addition, we recommend adhering to this sound advice from Agriculture Victoria:
✔️ Keep wild birds and rodents out of bird houses and coops, and away from backyard flocks and pet birds.
✔️ Secure feed bins and water bowls in closed areas, to avoid attracting wild birds and rodents.
✔️ Consider removing bird feeders to avoid attracting wild birds.
✔️ Keep visitors away from your birds. Avoid visiting other poultry farms or other people’s birds.
✔️ Wash hands and shoes/boots before and after entering a bird area.
✔️ Wear disposable boot covers and coveralls if you can and discard them when leaving a bird area.
✔️ If you have been in an area where wild waterfowl have been, change your clothes and shoes before handling poultry or parrots.
✔️ For birds that are new to your flock, or those that have been to a bird show, isolate them in a quarantine area for at least 30 days before introducing them back to your flock.

The kākāpō, a unique flightless parrot, stands as a powerful symbol of the necessity of preservation. Once thriving in the forests of New Zealand, their numbers dwindled to approximately 50 in the mid-1990s.
Through persistent conservation efforts, the kākāpō population is now around 250 and rising. Let's applaud and encourage continuous actions to protect this amazing species! 🌿
