Jamberoo Mountain Farm Jamberoo Mountain Farm is an ethical and sustainable producer of pasture raised eggs and beef in the misty mountains of Robertson

Jamberoo Mountain Farm is an ethical and sustainable producer of pasture-raised premium quality beef and eggs. Located at the peak of the Southern Highlands town of Robertson, the family-run farm is the passion project of former city dwellers Lachlan and Nicole Feggans and their two ‘little farm hands’ Ellie & Jack. Before ditching the corporate world for a tree change, Lachy and Nicole spent year

s observing and studying sustainable farming practices from around the globe. Their dream had always been to adapt and implement what they had learnt to the local environment. And when they set food onto the green pastures and rich red basalt soil of Jamberoo Mountain Farm, they knew they’d found their perfect match. Jamberoo Mountain Farm utilises a rotational farming system that uses the natural grazing habits of their animals to fertilise and regenerate the pastures. It's this artisan approach to farming that produces top-quality food from their paddock to your plate with a difference you can taste.

SPRING FLING🌼

There were huge bursting moments today from spring cleaning the house followed by all the farming stuff all at once!

Ending by a swim, fire, cheese plate, champagne and chats as the sunset over the range by the dam. Not always this perfect but feels pretty sweet when it is💛

Sunday is my fav day for collecting eggs. Ellie (my daughter) and I collect together taking turns of rolling the eggs in, placing them in trays and walking them back to the buggy and then the shed. Sunday is the only day I don’t process and pack so I actually get a little break, we save that until Monday morning and have a double day of packing eggs and deliveries with my mum on board to ease the load.

I love that we don’t rush, we collect the eggs when we like, enjoy hanging out with the chicks, take a few pics, stop by the dam, pat the calves and take all the big green in. The promise of Spring - growth, abundance, deck hangs, swims and less layering feels pretty sweet too💛

Love that my daughter and my mum are my biggest support crew in life and just get when two sets of hands are better than one🥰

Freezing but oh so beautiful that last light tonight. Nearly missed the opportunity to go on last farm rounds as the house jobs were calling. However so glad as we got to check on the calves, Jack enjoyed a bike ride whilst all admiring the beauty of the chickens roaming now the wind has settled. Our dog Marley is in the pic lying on the grass taking it all in too. The beauty of the farm can be quite magical on nights like this💚

Eggs are my daily ritual. Not a day goes by without collecting the eggs, processing and packing and then delivering to our loved customers, actually the best part of my job is delivering and chatting to the chefs and grocers.

I snapped this delivery yesterday in the sunshine as I am always admiring and ensuring they are packed perfectly so you can enjoy opening them in your home.

Happy Saturday and hope you are enjoying some eggs this morning. We had friends staying overnight with many rounds of scrambled eggs on bread enjoyed with coffee this morning💛

These sunsets are making me so happy💛

What a beautiful end to the day when you see the farm humming in harmony.

Today our newest hens (22 weeks and counting) laid 2 eggs. 2 out of 450 replied Jack “Mummy are you crazy, that’s not very good?” Whilst yes, there’s still 448 🥚’s to go, it’s a start I responded. Those 2 eggs made me so happy this morning, literally jumping for joy and sharing the good news with whoever would listen, as once they start they all soon follow🐓🐓🥚🥚

To my customers, friends and family who have been listening to my story about hens not laying, I thought this might make you happy as you won’t have to listen to me complaining for much longer, I hope!

May they continue with speed & abundance🙏

So grateful for the Sunday sun today and getting things done, that light at the end of the tunnel💛

All chicks back roaming on fresh grass with no muddy feet☑️

The temps have dropped but looking like a clear week ahead. A good reminder for all us chicken owners to keep up a high protein feed to keep hens laying over Winter, constant access to a layer feed and water for them to lay eggs is key.

We are trialling a supplement feed which is super rich in protein and fat to give these girls an extra boost, as they desperately need it heading towards the shortest day and cooler times. We have seen an increase in our egg lay rate and shell quality so far and will report back with finer details at the end of our 4 week trial. These guys are doing some incredible work to manage food waste whilst benefiting our chooks too🪰🐛♻️

The Robertson Ladies Lunch 2024🥂🩷

Third year running and oh so strong, if I do say so myself. I spoke about how this lunch yesterday came about, as it was a wonderful idea of the owners who wanted to connect women in our community and that they did with a little help from a local lady being myself and event super star Holly💥

With the loved as MC you can’t really go wrong and a new guest speaker each year set to inspire and that did in fine style, what many heart opening moments captivating us all, just being her honest self. Thank you Lisa💛

It’s quite the collocation joining forces with the best bookshop around who go above and beyond and all raising money for a very good cause, needed more than ever before , so happy we could help raise money for this very worthy cause.

Last but not least to have on the stage once again was simply the best. A local lady and close friend who I admire deeply.

To all those local businesses who donated incredible prizes, thank you so very much and to all the ladies that come along every year to join us on the ride, we couldn’t do it without you🙏

Moments like this fill my cup and bring the glamour, connection to community and fun into my farming life✨

It’s a beautiful day to open those big doors☀️🐓🐓🐓

We have done this many times, however it never gets old. Sort of a ritual for us now to all go over and watch the little chicks slowly jump out, one by one. It surely doesn’t take them long once they have discovered the great outdoors. Sunshine for them to fan their feathers in, grass to roam and peck between, dirt to roll around in and grubs to give them natural protein.

Pasture raised is certainly better for them and in return does make for the best nutrient dense and delicious eggs, making it much better for us too.

Who wouldn’t love a pasture raised life?!

More eggs coming soon, we thank you for your patience with lesser eggs on shelves whilst we change over our chicks🙏💛

Soil is the forefront of everything we do here at JMF.

Come and learn why soil keeps the earth and us healthy. If we want our food to nourish us and ensure our planets long term health, we need to understand how it works.

Local filmmakers will lead this discussion with Phil from and my clever husband

Really a MUST for everyone. Come and learn, take part in the conversation and be inspired, it really is a wonderful thing to have this knowledge when you make decisions for your family and future.

The event will take place at the in Robertson, light refreshments included. Booking link in my story and bio. Get on board, all welcome!

Exciting to arrive back to this birds eve view thanks to Luke for the amazing drone mapping experience🙏

This is our farm and we feel very lucky to be the stewards of this green patch and we have some exciting things going on in the background, always pondering and exploring the possibilities…

Sometimes I do like to take things slower however likes to drive toward the bigger picture, however in a way we keep one another balanced and in a steady pace.

This is the beginnings of the JMF Regenerative Master Plan where you will start to see the platform come to fruition over time.

Think
- contour mapping to understand water flow and erosion control,
- revegetation zones to rejoin the fragmented rainforest ensuring farm production and nature can work side by side

10 years in and we are only finally getting to mapping & planning, however it’s now happening with exciting things to come in 2024 AND beyond.

This map is definately one for the wall! If you look closer you can see the cows grazing, the caravans surrounded by chickens looking like ants & you can see the deep green and the abundant regrowth where the chickens have just been. It’s a green circle life we are all living down here on the pastures of Jamberoo Mountain Farm💚

Ohhhhhhh that was an absolute treat tonight!

Friday family friendly dinners are an absolute must and pleasure.

It’s been a while since we have had a dinner out and not to forget an incredibly delicious one. Mushroom arancini, jalapeño wrapped in bacon, homemade pasta and sauces, next level pizzas and that Tiramisu accompanied with the best Sangiovese I’ve ever had.

Dinners are back in fine force and we highly recommend the entire service including the beautiful staff for making it that extra ✨, feeling lucky we have you in Robertson💛

Not to forget a doggy bag for lunch tomorrow as we ordered too much or you are just too generous?!

Good Morning Girls☀️

They have had a bit of a swap with cows moving to the right and hens soon to the left following one another in their green circle life. Both spreading out one another’s nutrients naturally creating a regenerative farming system. Time controlled grazing is key to ensure we rebuild that topsoil and improve the soils health.

This morning I could hear all the happy sounds from my kitchen windows, birds chirping and roaming whilst cows munch on the grass in the morning light, the way nature intended💚

Meet Chilli standing beside me. Chilli wants to become a regenerative farmer and she is making this dream come true by travelling between farms to interview and gain knowledge from farmers just like me.

Chilli came with her film crew being her dad Edwin this morning, they had all the gear cameras, video, drone and we had a lovely chat about how she can make this dream possible and what we have experienced throughout our journey. I’m excited to see this come to life on Sunday which Chilli will showcase on her You Tube channel and social media.

Chilli also has a passion for growing incredible vegetables and sharing some great tips, give her a follow and help her transition her dream into pasture raised and regenerative farming.

I set aside a few hours this morning for Chilli as I think supporting our younger generation is just so important as we need to be farming this way for a future and I think it’s incredible to have this idea and passion at 18 years of age. The younger the better to start farming and producing good food for local communities💚

Check out her followers on

The holiday is over baby!

As chief egg collector I’ve enjoyed having all 1350 chickens surrounding the house paddocks making my daily egg collect very short and sweet. Almost walking distance if there weren’t so many eggs!!!

Sooooo it’s now time for the big move tonight for these chicks to the far side of the farm ready to start their green circle journey once again. Just hooking on the chicken caravan to the tractor so we can slowly move the girls when they are resting tonight. The 1km commute begins tomorrow, geez it’s a tough life!

Lachy quite delighted that I can now keep an eye on what’s going on over that side of the farm and I was reminded this afternoon just how beautiful it is over there, so let’s just say it’s a win-win💚

Last weekend of hols with my crew after a day of planting 🌲 trees in the great green💚

These school hols have gone by at lightening speed, trying to slow down just a little bit this weekend before new adventures begin!

Today we planted trees with the gorgeous peeps and they did mention a few times how lucky we are to be here surrounded by one of these beautiful scenes. A good reminder, not to take it for granted and also reminding ourselves to slow down…and enjoy these scenes🥰
