Please observe our opening hours. Between 11am Saturday and 3pm Sunday we are not open. Yes we are here, doing weekend jobs and giving extra attention to our guests.

Our opening hours are on our website, page, any emails you receive from us, the two signs you drive past to get to our office and on our office door.

No we haven’t changed the hours, in fact they have been the same for at least 10 years, maybe more.

In emergency situations pick ups and drop offs outside of our opening hours, dictated by council, can be arranged with notice.

With the wet weather upon us, Sapphire, would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to drive to the conditions and make sure your tyres have plenty of tread. While she doesn’t currently work for any particular tyre brand, she is open to offers, she’s more than happy to conduct a safety check for you.

We’re back.
We understand that while we have been closed for maintenance there has been an outbreak of canine cough in the Cairns area. It’s airborne and therefore highly contagious.
While for most dogs it is the equivalent of the common cold, for young and older dogs it can cause additional complications.
If you have an upcoming booking with us we would really appreciate it if, in the days leading to their stay, you could avoid taking your dogs to locations where canine cough has been or could be contracted.
We look forward to seeing our regular guests and meeting our new ones from 9am.

We are still closed for maintenance, a deep clean and some much needed R and R.
We re-open on Thursday 12th September, in time for school holidays.
You may have noticed that we are responding to emails but do not have anyone in reception answering calls.
We will return calls as soon we are back up to full staff numbers and the resort is spotless.

Our Story

Kuranda Pet Resort (KPR) is a fully supervised, very safe, secure, clean and happy place for your dog or pet to enjoy a holiday when you have to be away from home. The Pet Resort operates every day of the year regardless of rain, cyclones, floods, heat or cold. It is designed for the wet tropics with a fully insulated roof and ceiling fans in every boarding room

Once you have a confimed booking at Kuranda Pet Resort your pets holiday is guaranteed. You can then confidently get on with planning your life and know that your pet will be in safe and professional hands.

We also offer a cost effective Pet Taxi service “door to door” to all local areas if you find you are short of time or find the road trip to Kuranda a bit too challenging. Also warm hydrobaths and nail clipping are available. Only the highest quality menus are served twice daily and we are happy to administer medications or provide special diets if needed. Two play/exercise sessions are provided every day to every dog in one of our 8 very well maintained grassed exercise areas.

The Kuranda Pet Resort is committed to provide the best possible experience for your pet while they are with us and are away from their home. The Pet Resort is staffed and supervised 24 hours a day every day. For 13 years the Cairns Region pet owner community have been trusting Kuranda Pet Resort to look after their treasured pet/s. We take that responsibility very seriously.
