As you can imagine school holidays, Christmas and Easter are very sought after periods for pet accommodation. For many families it’s the only time they can get away for an extended period.
We are generally fully booked well in advance and have a lengthy stand by list.
If you have managed to secure one of these spots and no longer require the accommodation, we would appreciate an email or call to let us know. Simply not turning up, not returning our calls or deciding that you only need half of your booking without letting us know is rude. You’re impacting a small business as well as those people wanting/needing pet accommodation.
We don’t want to ask for deposits for all holidays or peak periods as it isn’t fair for those who do the right thing. If you are asked for a deposit from here on in it’s because you have done one of the 3 things listed above….. or it’s Christmas.

In less grumpy news, the weather is great, our guests are enjoying the sun and we haven’t seen any precipitation as yet 😊

We apologise if you are trying to email or call us this weekend or were affected last weekend. We will get through the back log as fast as we can. It’s as frustrating for us as it is our customers.

Good morning, unbeknownst to us, thanks Telstra, we are currently experiencing a 9 hour internet outage. We have no access to emails or payment methods. Please be patient if you have emailed booking requests through as there will be a large back log.
We are fully booked from Thursday 25th through until Tuesday 30th April. Also for the May long weekend.
Enzo really isn’t happy about the outage.

Little known fact is that Buddy is actually part Tiger. If you listen closely you will hear his mighty growls 🐅 that rope stood no chance of survival. Buddy’s other hidden talent is removing knots from rope, we are hoping he can sort out our ball of Christmas lights by December.

Meet Mabel, Angus (house mates) and Suki (new best friend). Currently undergoing their theatrical training course at KPR, all are hoping to graduate and pick up some acting roles.

Meet Basil and Coco. Basil had a little accident and as a result he lost his leg however, he does not let that stop him having the best zoomie play time EVER. Basil and Coco met while holidaying at KPR and became best friends in no time.

Our Story

Kuranda Pet Resort (KPR) is a fully supervised, very safe, secure, clean and happy place for your dog or pet to enjoy a holiday when you have to be away from home. The Pet Resort operates every day of the year regardless of rain, cyclones, floods, heat or cold. It is designed for the wet tropics with a fully insulated roof and ceiling fans in every boarding room

Once you have a confimed booking at Kuranda Pet Resort your pets holiday is guaranteed. You can then confidently get on with planning your life and know that your pet will be in safe and professional hands.

We also offer a cost effective Pet Taxi service “door to door” to all local areas if you find you are short of time or find the road trip to Kuranda a bit too challenging. Also warm hydrobaths and nail clipping are available. Only the highest quality menus are served twice daily and we are happy to administer medications or provide special diets if needed. Two play/exercise sessions are provided every day to every dog in one of our 8 very well maintained grassed exercise areas.

The Kuranda Pet Resort is committed to provide the best possible experience for your pet while they are with us and are away from their home. The Pet Resort is staffed and supervised 24 hours a day every day. For 13 years the Cairns Region pet owner community have been trusting Kuranda Pet Resort to look after their treasured pet/s. We take that responsibility very seriously.
