I had never journaled in my life until recently. My close friend constantly talked about it all the time and kept telling me to start. I didn't know how to begin, what to write, and what the benefits would be. Fast forward 12+ months, and I finally started journaling—and wow, what a difference it has made to my life.
I began during a challenging time in my life when I was feeling pretty low. I had a lot on my mind and was a bit of a mess, to say the least. So, I just started. Every day, I would write down my intentions for the day, my daily tasks, things I was grateful for, how I wanted to feel, any wins I had, along with my thoughts and feelings.
Journaling really helped me get my emotions down on paper and focus on what I could control by listing out my intentions and tasks for the day. This helped me manage what I could control. After a few weeks, I could already see the positive impact it was having on me. Now, just a couple of months later, I can see how far I’ve come in such a short period of time.
Reading back on previous entries and ticking off the things I have achieved and the positive changes in my life is amazing, especially if you're a "check it off the list" person like me. All I can say is I am now converted. I love that I started doing this.
You don’t need to wait until you reach a low point in your life. Use journaling if you want to grow, make changes in your life, or if you have goals you want to reach. You won’t regret it.
