Why prevention is better than cure!!!

Meet ‘Misty’ a beautiful, almost 5year old Domestic Short Hair. She saw Dr. Danielle back in July for her yearly check up and vaccination. Misty had some mild changes to her gums and build on her teeth at which time it was recommended she undergo an anaesthetic and have her teeth cleaned! 🪥🦷

Misty’s bloods were normal and we went ahead with the dental. Because her owners acted when recommended we didn’t need to remove any teeth and Misty continues in good health! 🩶🤍

Meet Lily! 🐩🩷

She’s a 8year old Standard Poodle who’s been a patient of ours for quite a number of years, and was diagnosed with Addisons Disease back in December 2022.

Addisons Disease is a hormone based disorder where not enough cortisone is produced. Being an immune mediated disease treatment is needed life long.

Lily’s humans are great with her treatment and she recently came in for her injection with nurse Tash and was so well behaved, as always! 😉💉

How’s the side profile! 🤭🐾

This beautiful German Shorthair Pointer ‘Milo’ had his desexing done last week with Dr. Julie. His owners also elected to have a Gastropexy performed at the same time.

This procedure involves suturing the stomach to a certain spot on the abdominal wall to prevent a serious, life threatening condition called Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (known as GDV or Bloat).

Being a large, deep chested dog puts ‘Milo’ in a high risk category. Thankfully his chances at getting GDV or Bloat are much lower and give his owners some relief knowing we’ve done what we can in preventing it.

This handsome man was expertly cared for by Dr. Julie and nurses Laura, Tash and Roxy! 🤎🤎

A X E L ⛓️🤎

This old boy is no stranger to our clinic, and after a recent visit we’ve found some changes within his liver and his humans are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of it!

Axel can sometimes find other dogs and invasive procedures a little bit too much at times but is always such a gentleman in hospital for our team. He allows a muzzle to be placed and he allows the nurses to draw blood. 🩸🧑🏻‍⚕️

We love how he just takes it all in his stride. Thanks for being the goodest boy Axel! 🤎🩶

M A Y A! 🐈

This sweet kitty was bought in by her owners for a health check as she had some hair loss from behind her ears and possibly eating a little less.

Maya’s owner was very attentive and wanted to do whatever was necessary helping her into her very senior years! ✨

Dr. Sarah & nurse Tash collected a blood sample and gave her some well deserved cuddles! 🥰 🤍

Can you guess how old Maya is? 😸

Winston’s Story!

This sweet Dachshund gentleman was recently in the clinic having his follow up X-rays performed after he had his Luxating Patella repaired by the mobile specialists marsvets. 🦴🩻

He has had both his Patella’s repaired now and has been given the all clear. His X-rays are pretty cool, showing some hardware in his previously repaired leg!

We love Winston and fingers crossed this is the last of his major surgeries! 🤞🖤🤎
