Meet Sam ,off the track Standardbred. His owner wanted him to stand still and get used to be in the ‘spa’ before his trim.
We firstly allowed him to stand where he feels comfortable , which was in the dry side of the bay.
Then we casually walked him around, allowing him to sniff or just cross the water area.
Within a few minutes he was interested to check out the water and was happy standing in the water.
We wanted to show him that the rest point is the water not the dry part. He got the idea quite quickly and it was his idea to stands in the 💦
Well done Sam 🧡

We often want quick results, to copy exactly what we've seen, or get the expected response.

This can stop us from feeling and observing the horse. But it's this feeling and observation that helps us find the edge each horse has to offer and learn how to work with it.

Are you doubting yourself for not doing certain things perfectly with your horse?
We must learn to move through imperfect action, allow it to be awkward and then start to embody and be fully comfortable with it.

BIG NEWS TIME! LISTEN UP EQUESTRIANS LADIES!
Have you ever looked back at a moment in time and KNOWN it was the moment your entire life changed?

Buckle up, because this week could be one of these very moments.

I know, it’s a pretty big promise, but stay with me here, because I never offer something I can’t deliver on.

Read this post in full to make sure you don’t miss your big chance.

5 years ago I was having pretty significant problems with feeling confident around my beautiful horse.

WIthout spilling the full saga (because who has time for that ?!), the gist is this:
I felt anxious every time I wanted to ride.

I felt butterflies in my stomach, even before I arrived at the agistment.

When I finally mounted my horse, I felt like a beginner (I’ve been riding since I was 9 years old). My body was stiff, ‘frozen’ not sure at all what I’m even doing on my horse.

I was doubting myself constantly, which did not help me to be a leader for my horse.

I was always looking to see what could go wrong, or what would scare him, feeling anxious, and at the same time did not have a clue how to move forward.

Despite trying everything I could think of to make things better, I honestly couldn’t see a way back to riding without fear. I was on the brink of giving up.

And then…

The clouds parted…

Right when I thought I couldn’t take another thing going wrong, I found the therapy model that promised me that I can be very present with my horse and get my confidence back.

I was sceptical, no doubt - I’d already tried everything, right?!

But when you’re up against it, you can’t quit until you’ve tried literally everything…. So I gave it one last go.

And I’m so glad I did.

Opening myself up to a new approach and fully committing to my transition to become the master of my own destiny has meant I can finally ride my horse, go to clinics, on a trail ride and be the leader my horse requires me to be.

Because I finally let go and backed myself, so many things changed! Alongside my relationship with my horse getting better, my relationship with my husband and my kids has also completely changed for the better.

But - time to get raw here - this was no overnight thing.

There was no magic bullet.

I didn’t just sit by the arena looking at other riders while it magically happened on its own.

I rolled my sleeves up, I became obsessed with every training, mentorship and resource I could get my hands on, (to the tune of 10k) trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

And then… I figured it out…

And the proof I’d taken the right steps was (and still is) in the results!

For the first time ever, I was present in the moment without thinking of ‘what if’ scenarios.

I’d freed myself.

If you haven’t felt that moment of freedom when the weight lifts off your shoulders ... just wait.
It’s coming and it’s glorious!

When I’m with my horse, I’m completely present with him, either on the ground or while riding.

I feel in my body what needs to be done to have a good ride. I am not worrying about where the new scary thing will jump out from. I feel my horse is my best friend and I’m confident to take him to the beach, clinics or just for a fun trail ride together.

I'm FREE!

If you haven’t experienced that liberating feeling yet… it’s right around the corner.

You know when you know.

It’s an awakening and it’s not something you can buy, it must be learned and understood.

I went from doubting my abilities in the saddle, to feeling that I have the skills and determination to succeed however I want to..

So here’s what’s up:
I want to share the big lessons I learned during that time with a few select female equestrians.

Those who are truly ready to embrace a new way and devote themselves to forging a new life with their horse.

For those special ones, I’ve been working on something incredible behind the scenes that’ll mean you don't have to waste years on struggle, like I did.

You’ll be able to fast track straight to the good bit.

That’s quite an advantage, no?

The problem I’m having is this:

The work I do is deeply supportive and fundamentally life changing. As a result I can only open up to a few female equestrians at a time.

When you understand how much of my personal time and money I have (and will be) investing into providing this hugely transformational experience, you’ll truly understand its value.

So next steps?!

I can’t reveal everything on this post, but if you’re interested to hear more, type the word
‘ME’ in the comments.

I’ll personally send you a private message so we can schedule a quick call where I’ll share all the details with you and we can decide whether or not we’re a good fit.

I’m starting as I mean to go on, so starting the conversation in person, and getting a chance to answer any questions you might have is the first logical step. We’ll know right away if it’s a match!

Careful though, these calls are on a first come, first serve basis, so get in fast to make sure you secure the call time that suits you best. Anyone who comments ‘ME’ will get first dibs!

And if, by the end of the call, we’re a match made in heaven…

….you’ll get top spot on my elite invite list to secure your position as the gutsy action taker we both know you are…

But the doors won’t stay open forever. You’ll have only until Thursday January 9th , 9pm AEST, to decide whether or not you’re ready for the next level.

After that, you’ll have missed your chance!

So to get more details right away, do exactly these 2 things:

Type ‘ME’ in the comments

AND

Keep an eye on your Messenger inbox for a message from me so we can arrange a time to chat, (if you don’t see it, check your ‘message request’ folder!)

Now’s your chance! My vision is strong, and my heart is open.

I can’t wait to see how this opens up your life, like the way it did mine.

You’ll see for yourself soon enough…

Abby

Sophie’s ( OTTB) owner asked if we could work on teaching her how to stand still in the washing bay. As a OTTB she is familiar with wash bay, stables etc. However, no one ever asked her to stand still she was always told or forced to do so with double cross ties. If the horse doesn’t understand what’s going on or what he benefits from an action it’s harder to teach them. I believe a horse needs to understands , then they remember what you’ve taught them. With Sophie, she used to push through the person to move away from the washing area. So we showed her that if she chooses to walk away, there’s no rest. The rest point is at the washing bay. I didn’t force it on her, she realised that this is a good place to do nothing :). It took some repetitions, but being such a clever horse, she quickly figured it out 🧡😊

The only way to help us or our horses to overcome emotions such as fear/anxiety is to let go of the story behind it.

Allow yourself to clear your mind and truly see the horse in front of you, so you can decide what they need from you at this point.

Work with what is presented to you, sometimes it means the plans need to change and adapt.
