Vom Haus Elk prides itself on sourcing only the highest quality dogs from the most respected kennels across the globe to include in its foundations and breeding program. Located in the Southern Flinders Ranges Vom Haus Elk is situated on a large acreage property in the small township of Baroota. Our principle business is Flinders Run our family owned and operated Vineyard and Winery Business, We grow and produce world class wines for the International stage. We provide a complete support package for the dog, this includes a Hip and Elbow dysplasia guarantee if at any time your dog is diagnosed with a HD/ED problem we will assist you to find the best solution for the dog and you as the owner, we understand that the bond between You and your new Rottweiler is a very close and sentimental relationship, one that should be respected and cherished. As a commitment to our dogs and their owners, In the event the worst scenario was to present itself, we offer a replacement puppy from the same or similar type breeding or if you request a refund then that would be discussed and evaluated on an individual case by case situation. Vom Haus Elk is committed to its dogs for the lifetime of each and every one of those dogs, and if for some reason your not happy with your dog or it needs to be re-homed then, Vom haus Elk will be happy to take the dog back and assist in its re-homing. Hi Guys,
It's been some time since I posted. I have been crazy busy with our Flinders Run wine business.
Just a quick update that our dogs are doing well our young dogs are coming along nicely, Mercedes Kamaro Narla are really showing promise both in type and temperament.
Early in the new year we will conduct the necessary health testing and if all is well we will announce the planned breedings in 2024.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy healthy and prosperous new year.

Commitment and dedication of a breeder, we don't leave the bi***es side during the lead up to the birth, we monitor her every moment and the progression, ensuring she is comfortable has fresh water and available food to ensure she and the puppies are well hydrated and nourished ready for the birthing process.
We have the whelping box ready, clean sheets, towels, hot water bottles and all the necessary equipment to ensure the birthing process runs as smoothly as possible, and that mum and the arriving puppies are cared for to the best of our ability.
It's a stressful time, but a beautiful moment as we help the mum to successfully deliver her new babies.
A friend and respected breeder once said to me, it's during these moments we see the ultimate qualities in our dogs, the one on one connection, and the bond that forms between us.
Each pup we bring into this world is an extension of us and our family, we do our best to select only the highest quality dogs to run on and develop our next generation of breed suitable dogs.
Striving to maintain both the type and the balanced temperament of the complete Rottweiler.

We are excited to announce that Vom Haus Elk Heros Elektra will be having a litter.
We are expecting our little bundles of joy to arrive this week.
Elektra was bred (AI) to Vico vom Dunvanhof ( Import from Netherlands)
This combination represents the best of our import German ADRK and European imports.
This is a repeat breeding of our M litter, we were so impressed with Mercedes from that litter and the background pedigree of (Massimo Von Shambala) we have decided to pursue this breeding again with the hope to run on with this pedigree in our program.
We are expecting high quality pups from this combination with balanced drive and temperament.

The introduction of the DACO number by the dog and cat management board has created a massive back yard breeding frenzy.
The DACO number does not signify the breeder to be an Australian National Kennel Council ANKC registered breeder, the DACO number simply is a number that is registered with their local council that
1. They breed dogs.
2. Their dogs are registered with their local council.
As an ANKC registered breeder we are assigned a formal Kennel Prefix name and number and when placing an advert or notification we are require to list our name and prefix.

without an assigned prefix and prefix number the person claiming to be a registered breeder is selling you a back yard, most likely a poorly bred dog, and worse still it is highly likely the parent dogs have not undergone the required health testing and therefore do not qualify to be formally bred according to the FCI IFR ADRK and ANKC breed standard that we as ethical breeders adhere to.
Buyer be aware, as an ANKC registered breeder we are required to follow a strict code of ethics, our dogs must undergo a series of health testing to qualify as breed suitable dogs and importantly every pup we breed is vaccinated microchipped and issued with a formal pedigree whether that be on limited or on mains registration, and this pedigree is issued to us from the National Kennel Councils State Body, in this instance from DOGS SA.
There are many advertisements on line especially on gum tree today around 164 adverts for the Rottweiler, with many of them claiming to be registered breeders who are only providing a DACO number.
Please do your due diligence when inquiring for a puppy identify if the person is an ANKC registered breeder, ask the valid questions regarding the mandatory required health testing and if they don't answer you and or provie you with all of the right information, stter clear take a wide berth and seek a puppy from an ANKC registered breeder who has taken the time to research the breed, conduct all of the necessary health testing and importantly providing you with a well bred healthy puppy that has a formally registered pedigree with the Australian National Kennel Council.
Buyers please be aware, while you think your interacting with an ANKC registered breeder you might not be, so simply ask the person for their ANKC registered prefix and number and make the call to DOGS SA or any other of the state bodies and get clarification that the person is registered with the National Kennel Council and that your not supporting the unethical back yard breeding trade !

Good morning Vom Haus Elk friends and family,
We have decided it's time to retire a couple of our older dogs, we have one female and one male that we would like to place into a family home to live out their lives in a more family companion orientated environment.
Delta is a gentle female, very relaxed and would suit almost any environment, young couple or older couple or a family with older children, she's ok with other dogs but would prefer if she went to her forever home as the only dog.
Fang is a substantial male, a solid boy with great drive and a willingness to work and please. His background pedigree represents some of Germany's finest pedigrees in show and working circles.
Fang would suit a family with older children, preferably with no other animals, he gets on well with other girl dogs.
If you are interested in either of the two dogs please call me to discuss the details.
Applicants will be vigorously screened for their suitability, and only placed in the right environment
if you are looking for a yard dog as a guard dog please do not apply we are not interested in placing our dogs into this kind of environment.
The cost of the dog will simply be vet's cost for having them desexed, so would be around $600 per dog.

We have 4 little girls in the litter, mum and puppies are doing well.
Sire and Dam have undergone all the necessary health testing are HD, ED EYE AND MOUTH CERTIFIED. BOTH DOGS JLPP FREE.
Pups will undertake a comprehensive veterinary examination and assessment to ensure they are healthy and sound, vaccinated microchipped and wormed. The pups will be DNA profiled by Orivet Australia.

Just a friendly reminder,
during these hot summer days please make sure your dogs have fresh clean water available, topping it up through the day will freshen it up, and if you have water monsters like some of ours who love to get in the water troughs and splash around, freshening it up is important.
Keep an eye on them, as dehydration can happen quite quickly, also walking them out on bitumen or concrete is not cool, if its too hot for your feet then its too bloody hot for theirs.
Burning the pasterns is painful, and worse still can lead to infections, so if you must take them for a walk during hot days do it early in the morning or late in the evening.
Remember to keep the exercise short and easy and don't over exert or push them during these hot summer days.
