Meet the VetCheck 24/7 Vets

Dr Jemma is a small animal veterinarian who has worked in general and emergency practice over the past five years. Jemma grew up in rural New South Wales with many pets on a small hobby farm. She has swapped the Blue Mountains for the Yorkshire Dales; and spending the last 12 months working and exploring the English countryside.

She is a passionate advocate for animal welfare, with a particular interest in geriatric pet health, including management of osteoarthritis, creating the best quality of life possible for older pets. She supports owners with end-of-life care, difficult decision making, preparing for euthanasia and post-euthanasia advice and support.

Growing up in the NT & QLD on large cattle stations, Dr Joss was forever “surprising” her family by bringing home animals, from dingo pups to brumbies! It was only natural that she pursued a career as a vet. Graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2011, she spent 5 years in SW Victoria in mixed dairy practice, then as a locum in many mixed, small animal, equine and dairy practices around Australia. She now calls the Macedon Ranges home working in mixed animal practice for the past 2 years.

She has a special interest in production animals, equine medicine and small animal medicine and imaging and enjoys spending time with her family on their farm, playing sports or planning their next travel adventure.

Meet the VetCheck Vets - Dr Mariko

Dr Mariko has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne and is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in emergency critical care.

She currently works at a 24 hour small animal clinic in Melbourne where she mainly treats dogs and cats with the occasional rabbit and guinea pig.

Outside of work Dr Mariko enjoys long distance running and tending to her vegetable patch.

Dr Moss has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and opened his own successful practice in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria in 1999. His pet family includes a cat named Herod (the King!) and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog named Nala.
