Pythons are a bit like children... They protest going into the bag, but once they’re in there they protest coming out again 🙄😆

Cheese and Release!

Coastal Carpet Pythons are by far the most common snake call-out I receive to relocate. The catches aren’t usually as exciting as some of the venomous Elapids, but I will never complain being allowed to spend time with these beautiful snakes before releasing them back to their natural habitats.

Highly venomous Eastern Brown snake I caught last year inside a garden shed in Pomona! A bit of a sketchy space to try and catch this snake in but I didn’t remove alot of the clutter first because Eastern Browns are highly movement oriented (as are most snakes) and it would’ve only spooked the snake and made for a harder catch, as you’ll see with the movement of the bag at the end.

*If you ever come across a snake on your property, never attempt to catch it yourself, always seek advice and help from a licensed and professional snake catcher.

Brown Tree Snake striking!

As soon as I backed away, it went back to being relaxed.
Snakes strike as a last resort when feeling cornered. If you see one, just stay still or walk away and it will leave you alone and move away.

Brown Tree Snake from Buderim! Such a cool snake 😍🐍
Unlike the Common Tree Snake, the Brown Tree Snake is Mildly venomous and puts on a great defensive display! Generally they keep to themselves hunting lizards, geckos and even small mice by night. These climbers are often found in roof spaces and rafters. Often referred to as the Night Tiger or Brown Cat Snake.

Another beautiful little Python relocated from a garden with a dog in Caloundra yesterday. This one didn’t even try to eat my hand 😅💚🐍

SNAKE TRIES TO EAT MY HAND!

You can’t eat that!! This python must’ve picked up on the scent of my dogs on my hand, because as soon as I moved it, it latched on and constricted my arm 😳. After a minute It let it’s bite go, but held on to my arm like I was its prize catch. I completed the catch one handed 😅

It was relocated from my old neighbour in Mountain Creek, not even a week after us leaving 😅 It made itself quite at home in their shed, which was being cleaned out

*The reason I wasn’t concerned about being bitten is because carpet pythons are non venomous and I knew exactly what I was dealing with. If you are ever bitten by any snake, always seek medical advice and follow snake bite first aid.

Never underestimate the strength of a snake that does not want to leave. To be fair, with that view of Peregian, I’d want stay too! 🐍

Highly Venomous Eastern Brown Snake Release …Did you even see it go? ⚡️

They waste no time in getting away. They want nothing to do with us at all and will take every opportunity to escape if they can, with lightning speed. They don’t chase people and they’re not aggressive, just a little misunderstood.

Python Hug! When a python hold on like this, it’s not trying to constrict me. Constriction is used to immobilise prey during feeding. Here, It’s just making sure that where it’s heading is safe and secure before letting go. As a snake catcher, it can also make it tricky to move them from some places because their muscles are so strong! snakes like to feel secure too!

But…I like to think it’s a little hug goodbye 🥰😅
