At the end of April we were very excited to learn that Typo “Avoncrest Its Never Duck” qualified to compete for Puppy Of The Year at Dogswest Celebration Of The Best 🏆
To compete alongside the very best of WA’s show dogs on Saturday was a huge thrill.
We are so proud of how far Typo progressed. He beat some incredible dogs & then to make it to the Quarter finals & be in the Top 15 dogs was huge!
Absolutely ecstatic with his results 🖤🎉🏆

Typo also took out another lovely “Minor In Group” on Sunday.
A moment I’ll never forget and to win against such a lovely line up of dogs was an amazing feeling.

As a courtesy we ask that photos we have taken of our pups are not used by other breeders for self promotion.
So if you see this photo being used by another breeder, it is in fact a photo I have taken of a pup I bred. He is an Avoncrest pup.
It is NEVER ok to use someone else’s photos without asking. It’s called having manners.

🚨So just a heads up to be very careful with dog toys.
My pups had these (bought from Kmart today) for about 10mins before one of them managed to chew the battery/light out. So dangerous 😬

With the weather being on the toasty side this week, just a reminder to plan ahead for your dogs
💦Keep their waters topped up (and have multiple bowls available)💦
💨Keep your dogs inside with the aircon & fans on if possible 💨 If you can’t, consider buying a kids shell pool from Bunnings (about $20), half fill it with water and place in a shady area.
Avoid walking your dog unless it’s super early in the morning or late at night. 🔥Place your hand on the ground and if it’s warm DON’T risk it.🔥 If you wouldn’t sit a child on the bitumen/pavement don’t do it to your dog.
❌NEVER leave your dog in the car, not for a minute. Not why you race in to the shop to buy milk or quickly drop your kid off at their classroom, NEVER EVER!❌
Keep your dogs cool and plan ahead 💦🐶

Heatwave Situation for 3 days starting Monday 20th November 2023

Safety Advice
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.

Weather Situation
Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high twenties over the Kimberley.

Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties over the Central West and Lower West.

Severe heatwave conditions in the Kimberley are expected to ease over the coming days.

Heatwave conditions over the west coast are expected to increase in intensity and extend further south over the coming days.

Locations likely to be impacted include Fitzroy Crossing, Gingin and Morawa.

The next heatwave warning will be issued by 2:00pm WST on Monday 20 November 2023

👁👁 Quick trip to Perth & back for the pups Clinical Eye Exams with the Specialist (all clear👏) plus DNA swabs & final vax’s.
The pups were total menaces in the waiting room redecorating, the staff loved them😈😈 (I’m not sure they’d have the same opinions of them at 3am though)
They then slept all the way home 😇😇🎉🙌
Worth the trip to have the tranquil sound of silence all afternoon, it was a beautiful couple of hours while it lasted 🤣

🥂Fab weekend at the SBTCWA Speciality Shows 🥂
First time leaving the house for the pups (other than having their vax’s) so they were pretty excited/crazy 😈😈 It was a terrific first experience for them & they had a blast.
They even had a catch up with their brother Bodhi.
