After playing on the confidence building equipment, our puppies had some chill time in the shade. It was a perfect way to finish the class.
Teaching our puppies how to relax around other dogs is vital for their development. Our aim for our dogs should be to be able to ignore other dogs and feel like we are more important in their environment.

At Cherokees we are passionate about preparing our puppies for real life situations, in their future. Something that is really important is to handle them well. Teaching a puppy to be calm when they are restrained and to also follow pressure and not resist, can set them up for success in all sorts of situations, especially the vet and groomer.
Since Sophie was 9 weeks old, she has regularly been well handled by myself and my trainers. She has also been visiting my groomer regularly.
Westies are notorious for not liking their feet being handled. So it was my job to prepare her well. It's not the groomers or the Vets jobs to train our dogs. It's 100% our responsibility.
As you can see, Sophie is very calm and confident during her session. She even falls asleep when she's having her face clipped.
