A collection of Seal Bicolour Ragdoll Kittens from the Aberlady historic Album.
Bicolour literally means 'two colours' but the second colour is white. Bicolour kittens have the inverted white V on the face, a pink nose and white legs and belly. Often they have a colour 'saddle' on their back, but like all ragdolls, the body colour isn't white, rather a very pale shade of their mask and tail colour.😻

These are Lilac Bicolour Ragdoll Kittens from the Aberlady previous kittens album. Lilac is a rarer colour because it requires inheriting double recessive genes from both parents and not every mating can produce lilacs.

This is a selection of Blue, Lilac and Chocolate Mitted Ragdoll kittens from the historic Aberlady Album.
Blue looks more like grey, lilac is the lightest colour and can takes ages to develop. Chocolate is brown and simar to seal but lighter, and they often have the dark 'button' noses with the rest of the mask taking more time to develop colour.
Did you know....Ragdolls are pointed cats, which means they are all born white. The point gene is affected by temperature, that's why the 'points' develop colour first, because they have the lowest body temperature away from the core. (Ears, Nose and Tail)😻
These are Seal Tabby Mitted Ragdoll kittens from the historic Aberlady album. Tabby (sometimes called lynx) gives the coloured areas a stripy pattern and they have light edges to the ears and around the eyes.

I've been going through my photo album and putting together collections of historic Aberlady kittens. These are the 'mismarked' cuties in various colours. Of course we'd love to breed them all to have perfect ragdoll standard patterns (markings) but mother nature sometimes has ideas of her own.
They are still beautiful and funky, and they are still pedigree ragdolls, even if they are not suitable for the cat show! Typically these kittens are a little expensive than the others but it is random when they are available.

Updated photos of 'Nugget' aka Aberlady Rameses now he's matured into a beautiful 18 month old adult. He undoubtedly has the most important characteristics of a Ragdoll, the most incredible temperament as well as size. He was always big and reached 9Kg (20lbs) at less than 1 year old and has wow'd everyone he has met at Cat Shows and Pet Exhibitions with his personality. As kitten and young adult he won several Supreme Exhibit Awards last year.
His sire is (ANCATS) Silver Double Grand Champion & National Champion Willowtreerags Apache Braveheart* USA and once again my thanks to Mable for sending him all the way around the globe to join my cat family :)

I'd also like to introduce Aztec, another Blue Tabby Bicolour boy from my wonderful friend Pam at Ragalon. He's a little younger but I look forward to his kittens next year. Aztec aslo has an incredible Ragdoll temperament, amazing type and beautiful deep blue eyes.

Merlin and Maverick are retiring in 2021 so I'd like to introduce Wilson. He is a Blue Tabby Bicolour and comes from Tomasz, a fellow breeder in Poland. He is a wonderful boy with an amazing temperament and that beautiful 'surprised' expression so characteristic of Ragdolls. I'm looking forward to seeing his new kittens develop and grow.
This came up on my youtube feed recently. Those who know me know that I promote and use a natural raw meat diet with my furry friends (and maybe that I have an Hons degree in Animal Science and Nutrition). This lady does a great job explaining the corporate structure of brands that make pet food and the legalities of labelling, although she's from the US, many of the brands are worldwide and similar laws apply everywhere. Did you know that 'big' brands are owned by Mars and Nestle....and other companies who sell to humans in the confectionary and cereal snack market? Don't be fooled by fancy marketing or even vet endorsement. If you need the convenience of prepackaged food seek out the better quality niche brands and remember, any raw diet needs to be properly balanced :) Really cats are just like humans...an everyday fast food diet will be ok in the short term, but we all know the long term affects.

ANCATS Silver Double Grand Champion & National Champion Willowtreerags Apache Braveheart *USA) who came all the way to Sydney from America via a stay in Scotland with my mum. Thanks Mable as always for sending him, he's such a lovely Ragdoll :)

Aberlady Diego left today 9 months old and 6.5Kgs to be a King with my long time Ragdoll friend Victoria :) Look forward to seeing him at the shows next year if we ever beat this Covid thing!
