Frustration can absolutely be a good thing if harnessed and directed into the right behaviour. Here's a perfect example of how training using frustration can drive dogs into a position and strengthen the desire to do so in order to receive reinforcement.
Jazzy is demonstrating working her little pocket rocket ๐ Frankie through frustration as she tries desperately to get into the heel position before it activates forward motion. This, combined with dynamic and varied reward placement, is what builds a very flashy little dog.
