Happy 3rd Birthday to Kaia 🎉
Which falls on International Dog Day no less! 🐾

My persistent, derpy, sweet-but-spicy sweet potato (because sometimes she’s just a vegetable 🤪)… the second part of my dynamic duo and a dog that can do no wrong 🥰
Always a favourite everywhere she goes - her enthusiasm for vet visits and trying to sit on staff’s lap never wanes… neither does her enthusiasm for protecting the clinic from “intruders” 🤪… Which is important because she spends a lot of time there 😅 the most accident prone dog I’ve ever known 🤦🏼‍♀️ she will seriously find a way to hurt herself on nothing.

Always the first to backchat, whether it’s moaning/groaning/barking at me or pressing her talking buttons to tell me “No!”… She’s known for adding her own ✨dramatic flair✨ to everything she does, whether it’s hurrying me up to go home or adding some spice to a basic “drop”. Even when she wants a cuddle she’ll do her signature “trust fall” where she backs up onto your lap and throws herself backward to force you to cuddle her. She is so funny, brings me so much joy and makes me laugh every day! 🥰

But it’s all worthwhile because when the switch flips she goes from a derpy, bouncy puppy to a serious sniffing machine with one thing on her mind 👊🏻
It’s been a privilege to raise and train such a sweet soul ❤️ and while she drives me crazy at times, I hope she never ever loses her spice🌶️😂

Cheers to the crackhead dog that changed my life in ways I’d have never imagined 🥰

It’s been a wild ride 🤪 - from pushing me to my limits to become a better trainer, inspiring me to create this business and carrying me as a handler on this amazing journey of becoming an internationally accredited Search & Rescue K9 team… not to mention the tree climbing, bin raiding, food stealing, trouble making, destruction, accolades and fun in between 😂

This one day when Misia was still a puppy, she was climbing up the rock cliff at the beavh. I recalled her and she came tearing down the cliff, towards me and without missing a beat stopped at my towel, picked it up and made a sharp turn straight for the water 🤦🏼‍♀️. Naturally, she was garnering a lot of attention from onlookers and a woman stopped and said “you’re going to have an interesting life with her”.

5 years on those words still haunt me 😂 she was right, and I wouldn’t change a moment of it for the world (no, not even the time she ripped the back seats of my car apart 🙄).

Here’s to the dog I got in my 20’s that forced me to grow and pushed me outside of my comfort zone. You’ve been the best K9 partner I could dream of and I can unequivocally say, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you Misia ❤️
Here’s to many more wild years ahead of us, and I can’t wait to see what other whirlwind adventures you take me on!

Hope everyone has been enjoying the milder weather in Melbourne this week! Just in time as I’ve been recouping from hand surgery the past fortnight and finally felt up to taking the girls out 🌅 Doing their pretty girl walk 💅

Happy International Dogs Day 🐶 To celebrate share your pupper pics or vids below! Today is also Kaia’s Birthday 🥰 so here’s ours: To celebrate she had a play date with her friends, and lived her best life… running, swimming, sniffing and DIGGING for 🐰 (none were found or harmed).

As some are already aware I am also a trainer and handler with Search and Rescue Dogs Australia, an emergency services organisation that utilises dogs to find missing people 🐶 That means that Misia has two jobs that sometimes intersect. She’s a SAR K9 but also one of our quality control officers 👌🏻 You best believe she takes both roles very seriously 😉 Here she is with our Kong Squeeze Bungee Ball Tug being rewarded for a find 😍

I’m bad at throwing, but luckily the girls are crackheads 🤪 (🎾 = crack)

For those that aren’t aware I also have a part time job and Thursday’s are my Fridays 🙌🏻 I’ve been pulling some very long days in my part time job + sewing up orders before and after work. So Netflix, a beer and a cuddle is my “TGIF” equivalent indulgence 🤪 What better way to have a break before I get back into sewing tonight 🪡🥰 #meetthemaker #TGIF

⭐️ UPDATE - RE-OPENING ⭐️ 🗓 Save the date: Sunday 3rd of April 7pm RE-OPENING & CLEARANCE SALE🎉 Thank you everyone for your patience and support during this time. It’s taken longer than anticipated to get the ball rolling, with set back after set back 🥲. As some may be aware, I had to temporarily close up due to being homeless/couch surfing for a period over December and January. While I still had my machinery set up, it was becoming increasingly difficult to get in to my “workshop”, so I made the decision to put the business on hold until I resettled. We finally got the keys to the new place end of January 🎉 Gearing up to reopen has been a journey; moving machinery, unpacking, organising, setting up. Then trying to navigate getting supplies and stock in a time of nation wide shortages has been a challenge. Then, to add insult to injury, the weekend I was planning to announce the relaunch I was diagnosed with Neuropathy in my right arm. 6 weeks on and I’m still waiting on further tests to determine what surgery I will need 🤪 As a result of all these difficulties, when we re-open we will have to implement some changes for a little while: - Less made to order, more ready made so that I’m able to pace myself 😬. - Some regular products will be marked as out of stock until we can get our paws on more 🤞🏻. - More promotion of the ID range as sewing is easier on the hands 😉 During the process, I stumbled across some stock I had hidden away that were 1 off pieces 🤗. I’ve also made the decision to cease stocking some items so what I have on hand will be heavily discounted 🙌🏻 I will be checking messages across socials and emails over the weekend so I apologise if you’ve reached out and haven’t had a response. Thank you again, and here’s to a great 2022 ❤️
