VALE my old boy BANDIT - Vonammerberg Eldo HIT - 2009~2022 🕊
This has taken me a while to process and share, and one of the hardest and most overwhelming goodbyes I’ve had to make…
BANDIT - while I was an Investigator working prosecutions, a chance knock on the door of your Breeder, Matt Steiler, lead me to you…Hubby, of course had no idea. Until he did!! 😅
Evident from the beginning, your extreme, yet balanced drives and exceptional character - stable in any environment, and socially - you loved our kids…in fact you loved all kids, you adored attention from people and pushed for their attention by incessantly dropping anything you could find at their feet to throw for you - a mistake many people were sucked into, as you would not give up the game!! You raised many puppies for us, including all of our current dogs, and you’ve done fantastic showing VALAK the ropes of what is expected of a male at home.
I started you in Urban Search & Rescue, your nose work an absolute asset - before I transitioned your training to suit our further objectives. Something you took easily in your stride, highly trainable and adaptable. Your heart and work ethic was enormous, you’d work all day if you had been permitted.
Even when being naughty, you were a good boy. Never killing a chicken, however stealing Hubby’s chicken's eggs was a favourite pastime for you. Gently lifting the hens off their eggs with your nose, stealing the eggs, before lowering the hen back onto her nest, just to run off and eat her eggs. No wonder your coat was as glossy as it was, even at 13!!
Utilised more at stud externally, than we utilised you, not only by the working community, however you were also embraced by a number of show line breeders, seeking to improve confirmation and temperament - hugely complimentary to the dog you were. You proved yourself the epitome of what a German Shepherd should be, you successfully produced operational Police Dogs here in QLD (both GP and
