The DOGUE Story

Founder Simone Kingston.

The concept of DOGUE was created back in 1997 when I set off to buy my beloved dog Gulliver his first jumper. I was surprised to find there was actually no such thing, well nothing Gulls would be seen dead in. So, I did what any style-conscious dog mother would do, I went home and knitted him one.

In the weeks to follow as Gulliver strutted the streets of Sydney in his new winter woollies, I was consistently being stopped and asked "where Gulls had got some fabulous knitwear from?" It wasn't long before I realised that Australian dogs were being deprived of a World of Canine Couture and so DOGUE was created.

DOGUE opened its doors in 1998 with Gulliver and the dogs of Sydney barking in delight. DOGUE was a store that catered to every dogs whim. With its own designer doggie label and a focus on pet fashion DOGUE was fresh and sophisticated and created overwhelming excitement amongst Sydney's well heeled dog owners.
