We had a fantastic day at the Maleny Show this year. We extend our sincere gratitude to Same Side Equestrian for collaborating with Side Saddle Australia to sponsor this event again, thereby showcasing and empowering this elegant and timeless riding style. Kristy Byrne and Sian Ellis presented an effortless display with their beautiful mounts. Majestic DeOra, you truly looked stunning, with a coat resembling spun gold. I would like to thank Mitavite for maintaining your excellent condition. We look forward to seeing you next year Maleny Show Society.

The Royal Canberra Show 2026
🌟 Wendy Tidbold Legacy Award 🌟

In memory of Wendy Tidbold, a much-loved side saddle promoter and saddler here in Australia. The Highly Commended Side Saddle Rider Award continues her passion for preserving the elegance and tradition of side saddle riding.

This award encourages riders to proudly represent this beautiful style of riding and honour the grace of the sport that Wendy championed so strongly.

For 2026, the Wendy Tidbold Legacy Award is a long-sleeve, sun-safe shirt featuring Wendy’s favourite saying:

“You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.”

The judges’ winners for 2026 are:

🎄Merry Xmas to Everyone🎄

It’s been wonderful to see our students and their horses ( and ours! ) develop flow, balance, and true partnership through thoughtful exercises and Classical training. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m truly honoured to be a part of it!

A few weeks ago, we welcomed ‘Padmé’ (stable name) to our stable, and she has already brought so much happiness ⭐️

We’re looking forward to an exciting 2026🏇🏇
