Brad has been training working dogs since 2001. With his experience and know

ledge we are able to achieve anything from our dogs. Shannon is a trained Vet Nurse, she cares for and maintains the health of all the dogs at Brashawin Kennels. She also is a certified Dog trainer have spent several years studying various techniques and methods. She has trained many of her own cross bred rescue dogs in the past, and now focuses on helping others achieve a harmonious relationship with their own K9's. Together Brad and Shannon have trained dogs for TV and movie productions, obedience and competitions as well as the beloved family companion. We understand that not everyone wants a working dog or show dog, which is why we have selected our blood lines very carefully. We breed in accordance to the GSDCA breeding standard, and all our dogs must pass the appropriate testing before going through the selection process for breeding. Our dogs are suitable for any type of lifestyle, from the security patrol dog, assistance therapy dog to the loyal family companion. Its all about Quality and Versatility, not quantity!

I snuck away for the weekend to a dog show, and although the weather was less than desirable, it was made even better by the company.
Got my Stumpy and Belgian Shepherd fix, shared laughs, stories, and the best hugs!
First shows back since tearing the MCL in my right knee and was very cautious of how I would manage. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends who will help me, even when I'm too stubborn to ask 💖

I am very proud of how he handled his first big cluster of shows and huge thankyou to my awesome friend Robynne for holding his lead when I needed to rest these dodge knees of mine.

🇷🇺Vlad had a few extra shows, and being the only one of his breed came away with 36 points towards his Championship title.

Metcha has decided that feeding them is not much fun, which is ok by us as she is still cleaning up after them. We just kinda share the workload.
Shes been a very good mumma, and I just adore how she interacts with them.

🏆Congratulations, Gizmo, on getting 3 passes, winning a 3rd place, and walking away with your Trick Dog Starters title 😀

💪Not to be outdone, Vader also went out and smashed 3 passes for 3 places as well in Trick Dog Intermediate. A 2nd place and 2 3rd places, gotta be happy with those results
Just a few more passes, and he, too, will have another title to add to his name.

Brashawin is a registered breeder of purebred German Shepherds & Yakutian Laikas, accredited by DOGS NSW / DOGS AUSTRALIA, formerly the Australian National Kennel Council Ltd (ANKC). We are proud to be the only internationally recognized register in Australia authorized to issue certified pedigrees for purebred dogs, recognized by state governments and local councils.

At Brashawin, we breed puppies that we would and do keep for ourselves. We take immense pride in breeding healthy German Shepherds & Yakutian Laikas with sound temperaments, ensuring that all our puppies receive the best possible start in life.

Another Brashawin Dog can now happily add the A and Z to their name.

Shaka from our 'hellhound' Litter has scored almost perfect scores on his hips. It doesn't get much better than this.

Shaka is owned and very much loved by Ovahimba German Shepherds.

Bit of a long post, and we apologies to anyone who encounters the previous owner of this dog who is affectionately named Teddy.
It would appear that this poor dog has not endured the life I had hoped with his previous owner and has now been returned to us.
I Apologies because, we have now been the recipient of some rather untasteful text messages along with the person who collected the dog from him for me as I was unable to make the trip to collect him due to the short notice of him needed to relocate the dog and having other commitments (a family and work, and a current litter of 3 week old pups)
I was also recently alerted to his inappropriate communications with another of our puppy owners from the same litter that took place prior to Christmas last year, I am horrified and disgusted that this person had to endure such behaviour from another adult. There are no excuses for this extremely inappropriate behaviour.

We do not appreciate being threatened or spoken to in a manner that is unjustifiable and derogatory. We have been nothing but professional, accommodating, and respectful, during the whole process... It's a shame that some people can't be the same.

Patience is a virtue and it would appear that if you say anything this person doesn't agree with or don't respond to his attempts at communicating immediately, he throws a tantrum and becomes very aggressive, with unintelligible and rapid messages.
If you encounter him, I urge you, please do not engage him in any fashion.

Teddy is definitely not the dog this person describes him to be, infact what we have seen in a short amount of time being back with us is far from the description given of the dog.
It's early days, and what we have witnessed is clearly a dog who hasn't had proper care and training.
First things first, he is in desperate need of a bath and a few extra kilo's

😱 what a productive weekend these 2 had last weekend 🎊

Vader and Gizmo smashing it at scentwork trials, with Gizmo clearly the winner and taking home 2 x 2nd place and a 3rd place, and also obtaining the last passes that she needed for her Scent Work Novice Title.
Vader came away with 2nd place but in a much higher level than Gizmo.

Well done Jhys, all that extra training and hard work is really paying off.

Also, pretty good at walking around.

Today, we decided to take them outside in the shade for 10mins whilst I cleaned up their room and rearranged the whelping box to include a potty area to commence toilet training.

She was born on the 28th November 2023 and is now 4 months old. Up to date with all her worming, vaccinations, is microchipped and has mains pedigree registration.
Katt is currently teething so her ears are a bit floppy (quite normal for shepherd pups at this age).

She gets on well with other dogs, is crate trained, basic manners, walks well on a lead, and is a people pleaser when it comes to training. Katt is very much suited to a loving family home, she loves to play and exercise but loves to flop into your lap for snuggles even more.

Katt is still sniffing around for the perfect family of her own.

She is such a sweet girl and would be suitable for a family with young or old kids. She gets on great with other dogs and is very respectful.

Katt is up to date with all her vaccinations, worming, flea, and tick. She is microchipped and has main registration pedigree papers issued by Dogs NSW.

The Yakut pups have been started on ENS, and it won't be long before we have eyes open. They are so different to raising German shepherd pups, but we are enjoying every minute of it.

It's been so hectic around here lately, it's hard to keep track of the days..

Yesterday, Mechta & Duffy welcomed 5 gorgeous puppies.
Mechta did amazing work bringing them into the world 🌎
From the time the first puppy was born, to the last one, it was a total of 2 hours and 6 minutes 😱🥰
I am a firm believer that Nutrition and exercise plays a critical part in how well our mums cope during this process.

Some of these cutie YaKuties will be looking for the perfect homes in 8 weeks time.
