And Welcome to The World!!! Another Super Hatch this weekend! We have sooo many beautiful breeds just out, a large assortment of Bantams and Beautiful Long Laying Heritage Breeds, Hybrid Sexed Layers - one of the most extensive selections you’ll find in WA!! Also stocking all the brooding equipment feed and medications, parasite treatments EVERYTHING POULTRY!! We are open as usual over the coming weeks except we will be CLOSED on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day. Aww thanks ls so much Haydn for sending in this beautiful pic of your broody Mamma hen. We are so glad she has taken to the baby chicks you chose last weekend!! We love all the “chickaholics” who have visited us year after year and it’s been wonderful to see you and your young family each year!! Sometimes a few times a year as we know owning chickens is rather an addictive hobby! We have a brand new super hatch tomorrow with lots of beautiful and varied heritage breeds ready for this weekend!

Welcome to the world little one….this one needed a bit of help getting out into the world. If you need to help a little one out - when you are picking out the shell try and continue to zip around where the air sack is and never pull the chick/ducklings right out of the egg because it will need time for its little umbilical chord to separate properly from the membrane lining the inside of the egg. Otherwise it can potentially bleed out. This one seems quite happy so we’ll pop it back into the incubator for another 12 or so hours until it’s nice and fluffed up. We will be contacted everyone now who has pre orders in for Pekin Ducklings as they will be ready to be collected from tomorrow.

Looking for some cuties to put under your broody chicken to get her off the nest before the hot summer days kick in? Come and visit Sindy (our 1 x Eyed Rescue Belgian D’Uccle Bantam), she adopted 7 baby chicks and loves them sooo much!! First you’ll need to set your broody girl up somewhere where she and the chicks will be safe, then at sunset slip the first chick under her. Then wait 5 to 10 minutes before adding each chick. Sunday has 7 little ones under her and they are all thriving. #broodyhen #broodychicken #mammalove #babychicks

We breed and sell a variety of chickens, geese, guinea fowl and ducks, namely Silkies, Pekin Ducks, Khaki Campbells, Ancona Ducks, Geese, Isa Browns, Light Sussex, Speckled Sussex, Australorps - Black, Blue, Splash & White, Wyandottes, Gold, Silvers, Blue & Splash, Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Rocks, Cochins, Barnevelders, Pekin Bantams, Anconas, Hamburgs, Black Sumatrans, Brown Leghorns, Guinea Fowl and our pen of Mixed Heritage X which are ideally suited for those wanting prolific egg laying hens with beautiful friendly temperaments, ideally suited for backyard family chickens. We are a small family hobby endeavour, so are able to accommodate visits to our home by appointment only.
We call ourselves a “zoo”, because of the many animals that reside on our 5 acre property in Bedfordale. From our 2 precocious dogs, Daisy & Chloe, our gaggle of giggling geese, our beautiful peacocks including the rare white one, our special turkey “Gazza”, and the many native animals that tend to free range around our home including kangaroos, joeys, possums, echidnas, bunnies (they can be annoying), bob tails, skinks, the odd snake or two, and an amazing array of bird life including the pesky blue wren that poops all over our cars, Rosellas, pink and grey cockatoos, black and red tail cockatoos, honey sucklers, 28’s, there are too many to name them all.
We hope that your visit to our “zoo” if you are purchasing chicks and poultry to join your family, is an enjoyable experience for all the family.
