This sweet Little Miss is looking for a name and her forever home. Her foster mum recommends a quiet home for her as she is rather shy but has warmed up once suroundings become familiar, already showing signs of being the perfect snuggly lap cat. She adores her foster sister and even enjoys the company of their small dog. Little Miss has a charming purr that will melt your heart. We estimate her age to be approximately 12 weeks. For further information, please contact the clinic.

**ADOPTED**

This gorgeous 16 week old sweetheart is looking for her forever home. While she is still learning the joy of human love, she absolutely loves her fellow foster kitten & can be found running around the house with her. She makes the most adorable little trill sounds & is quite partial to a scritch under the chin when she is up high on her scratcher. She also enjoys the company of her foster Mum's little dog. If interested, please call the clinic for further details

PLEASE SHARE AROUND!!

Abandonment & dumping can be avoided. At Laverton Vet Clinic we have had Multiple people dumping Kittens and animals in our front yard, Reception area and around our Vet Clinic. In many states and countries, pet abandonment and dumping is illegal and a punishable offense. These legislations are mainly covered under the animal welfare acts. We will now have CCTV cameras in place to hopefully put a stop to all of this.

At Laverton Vet Clinic we do our very best to take care of all animals. Unforunately we are not a shelter though. We take on as many stray animals and kittens as we can, but when we are at full compacity this does not give you the right to dump them.

No matter for what reason a pet is abandoned or dumped, the animal is always the one who suffers most in this situation. Many of the reasons given for abandoning or dumping pets can be avoided. Down below are a list of Shelters.

Worldwide cat vaccination shortage

There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines, and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until late July early August, 2024. Like other clinics in Australia, Laverton Vet Clinic is currently out of supply.

There are still steps you can take to ensure your cat is protected and safe until supplies are replenished. Keep reading to learn how.

If your cat has been receiving regular annual vaccines, it will have ongoing immunity to the diseases it has been vaccinated against. Vaccines generally provide maximum immunity for 12 months, but it does not mean that after 12 months, the immunity will suddenly switch off.

While protection will wane a little over time, a delay of up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that we should have regular supplies at the end of July early August to bring your cat back up to date.

To minimise risk, ensure your cat is entirely indoors, has no interaction with other cats, and is not exposed to cats of unknown vaccination status, such as stray cats.

Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies.

Cats entering catteries are considered at moderate risk as they are challenging environments. If your cat is up-to-date with its vaccination course, there is no need to be concerned. However, if your cat’s vaccine booster is due at the time, please speak with your cattery.
