Homemade quick and easy treats we know your dogs will love!! 🤤🐶😍

Always read the label and avoid foods that contain xylitol.

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 175°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and grated carrots.
3. Add the unsweetened applesauce and water (or chicken broth) to the bowl, and mix everything together until a dough forms. You may need to use your hands to knead the dough until it comes together.
4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough. You can use bone-shaped cookie cutters or any other fun shapes you like.
6. Place the cut-out biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
7. Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
8. Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
9. Once cooled, you can store the Carrot Crunchies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or in the refrigerator for up to a month.

These Carrot Crunchies are a tasty and wholesome treat for your dog, and they’re perfect for rewarding good behavior or just showing your furry friend some love!

A simple step-by-step guide to teach your dog to lie down: 🐕

1. Start with your dog in a standing position.
2. Hold a treat in your hand and let your dog see and smell it.
3. Slowly lower the treat to the ground in front of your dog’s nose, moving it in a straight line towards the floor.
4. As your dog follows the treat with their nose, their body should naturally lower to the ground.
5. Once your dog is fully lying down, praise them and give them the treat.

In hot weather, it’s crucial to prioritise your dog’s safety to prevent heat-related illnesses. Here are some essential tips to keep your furry friend safe:

• Provide access to shade and cool, fresh water at all times to prevent dehydration and overheating.

• Avoid exercising your dog during the hottest parts of the day; opt for early mornings or late evenings when temperatures are cooler.

• Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a short period, as temperatures can soar rapidly and lead to heatstroke.

• Protect your dog’s paws from hot surfaces like asphalt and sand by walking them on grass or using protective booties.

• Consider trimming your dog’s fur to help them stay cooler, but be cautious not to shave them too short, as their coat provides insulation.

• Monitor your dog for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, and lethargy, and seek veterinary care immediately if symptoms occur.
