Crazy Cat Lady Queensland (ABN: 93160581452) was founded in 2017 to address the sharp increase in cats and kittens being given away and surrendered in Queensland during the Christmas holiday period, which coincides with mating season. We exist to ease the burden on existing shelters, reduce unnecessary euthanising of healthy cats, and ensure the safety of cats and kittens in need. Providing shelte

We are a no kill rescue which principal purpose is to rescue and rehabilitate cats that are in urgent need of rehoming, specifically elderly cats, cats that would be considered unadoptable by shelters (eg due to behavioural or non infectious health issues), and cats that are at risk of being abandoned or euthanised.

Is it crazy cat-lady or a lady who rescues crazy cats...?

Crazy Cat Lady Rescue Queensland started out as a hobby for one somewhat sane cat lover and snowballed into a full fledged, registered animal welfare organisation. Intentional or not, we thought we might as well keep on rescuing cats and the occasional dog on death row in pounds since we’re already here. We also sometimes assist with rehabilitating stray cats and private owner surrenders, although the poundies keep us very busy. In order to forestall our adopter’s inevitable metamorphosis into crazy cat (or dog) people, all cats and dogs are vet checked, microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and temperament tested prior to adoption.
