We believe passionately in providing exceptional veterinary care and building lasting relationships with our patients and their owners. The House Call Vet is a comprehensive and modern veterinary practice that combines traditional veterinary clinics with an advanced house call service. With our fleet of house call vehicles and network of veterinary hospitals, we are able to care for pets across Br

isbane. Our custom designed Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) act as our consult rooms, fanning out from our clinic bases each morning to see pets across Brisbane. Our MVUs are equipped with microscopes, scales, diagnostic equipment, and a fully-stocked pharmacy so that most pets can be treated at home. If in-clinic care is needed, we provide complimentary patient transport to and from our surgeries. Our state of the art veterinary clinics act as our regional ‘hospitals’, providing comprehensive facilities where pets can be taken when they require in-clinic care such as surgeries, x-rays or dental procedures. Our clinics also perform in-clinic consultations every day for our patients who prefer to come visit us at the clinic! This model ensures that no matter what level of care your pets needs, and regardless of whether you prefer in-home or in-clinic appointments, we can be there for you and your pet.

It's World Wildlife Day! 🦘🐨

Brisbane is home to some of the most unique and diverse wildlife in the world 🦜 We’re so lucky to share our city with incredible native species like koalas, kangaroos, possums, flying foxes, kookaburras, and lorikeets.

But these amazing animals face growing threats, including urban expansion, invasive species, vehicle strikes, extreme weather, pollution, and even our very own pets.

Every single one of us help our beautiful wildlife by planting native trees, driving carefully in wildlife zones, supporting conservation efforts, and plenty more 🐝

If you're going away and want to hire a pet sitter for the first time, here's what you need to know! 🐶

🐾 Always vet your options first by reading reviews and meeting them in advance
🐾 Stock up on your pets' supplies e.g. medication, treats, food
🐾 Communicate your pets routines and any need-to-knows very clearly
🐾 Ensure you and your pet sitter have a reliable way to check in with each other regularly
🐾 Give them a chance to establish trust with your pet before you leave

Saying goodbye to your pet is one of the most heartbreaking things we can experience.

But sometimes, it's the right thing to do.

It may be time to consider euthanasia if your pet is in pain, has more bad days than good, or no longer responds to treatment.

Signs such as loss of interest in favourite activities, disorientation, anxiety, or withdrawing from family can indicate a decline in their quality of life.

If you aren't sure if it's time, we're here to lend an empathetic ear and provide professional (but gentle) advice.

Today is World Whale Day! 🐳

Whales are some of the most majestic creatures in our oceans, playing a vital role in marine ecosystems.

But despite their size and significance, they still face serious threats.

Today is all about raising awareness of the dangers whales encounter, including climate change, ocean pollution, entanglement in fishing gear, ship strikes, and habitat loss.

By understanding these challenges, we can all do our part in protecting these incredible marine giants for generations to come 🩵

❗️Important Microchip Registry Information❗️

The microchip registry data base “HomeSafe ID” may soon no longer be available. This means that if your pets microchip is registered with HomeSafe, there will be no way to contact you if they go missing as your contact details will no longer be stored by HomeSafe.
Fortunately, this does NOT mean your pets microchip, if registered to this database, will be inactivated or useless. It will still be functional and you do NOT need another microchip implanted.

What you can do?
We encourage everyone to check which database your pets microchip is registered with.

If you already know your pets microchip number, you can use the website Pet Address to search your pets number and it will show you where it is registered. This link is provided below:
https://www.petaddress.com.au

If you don’t know your pets microchip number, get in touch so we can check if we already have their number on file. If not, we can organise to have their microchip scanned.

If you are registered with “HomeSafe ID”, we can provide the documents/information to help you transfer your pets details onto another registry, such as Australasian Animal Registry (AAR) or Central Animal Records.

If you are worried at all, we encourage you to bring your pet into our clinic, for some complimentary pats and treats of course, while we scan their microchip to ensure they are safely registered to a database!

Much like humans, kittens go through 2 lots of teething - once after they're born, & once for their adult teeth 🦷🐈

While it's typically not too painful for them, they may experience some discomfort that can cause grumpiness & lessened appetites.

Kitten teething is usually a process that doesn't require vet intervention unless they have overcrowding or inflamed gums.

If you are concerned about your kitten, book an appointment to see one of our friendly vets today.
