We are so blessed to call Australia home, whether you were born here or whether you've moved here. Sure our politics, health care and other things aren't perfect, but we are able to live in a society without fear of bombs falling on our head or our children being taken by terrorists. We can go to sleep at night knowing we are relatively safe and the freedom to come and go as we please.

🥵 Oh boy, ain't it warm today. We go from hail, to flooding, to tornado to heat wave all in a week. Make sure your babies are keeping cool in this weather, temps over 40°C can quickly become fatal to parrots.

The connies are having fun playing parent to the baby quakes during feed time. Some people like to accuse me of photoshopping and altering my photos to make them look like something they aren't, so here's a video of Mr Maverick in all his glory. I'm flat out watermarking my photos, let alone working out how to enhance them 😅
They are the real deal, many years of hard work selectively breeding for colour and temperament 💞

Where most of the connies are hiding during the storm, just going into our third bad storm in less than 24hrs. Last night we got hit with really bad hail about 40-50mm diameter, the cars and aviaries are all dented up but everyone is safe.

Gary and Rosie's babies are getting so big, now they actually look like quakers 😅

I love pairing my birds so they have a variety of colour outcomes, like all five of these babies being different colours! It makes it so much more exciting when you watch the little tail tufts come through. DNA won't be back for these guys until after the Christmas shutdown.

Bathtime 🛁 Guess I'll be mopping again 😂

Day in the life of a bird breeder's daughter, mixing the pellets! Miss 6 has decided this is a concrete mixing barrel and the "concrete" must go down my arm a.k.a "the slide" 😑😆 Mr 8 is inside doing some treat training with the older babies and snuggling the smaller ones. Getting everything ready for the care packages, the countdown is on for those getting their babies soon! 🥰

Quakers are here, too! First clutch of quakers are hatching, and this little guy got a bit stuck yesterday in the 37c heat, so he needed a little assistance before going back to mum and dad to get fluffy. You can see the yolk absorbed into his abdomen and the remnant egg white goop that kept him slippery in there. #quakerparrot #birdbreeder #Australia
