OUR CHARTER IS:
*To act as a contact and liaison point between people who want to rehome their animals and people who wish to adopt them.
*To facilitate the provision of care and accommodation to genuinely homeless animals, by providing enriching foster homes when available, whilst finding them suitable permanent homes.
*To provide veterinary care for homeless animals, prior to placement in a suit

able permanent home. All animals are desexed prior to rehoming, to curb the exponential growth of unwanted animals in Victoria. When necessary, smaller vet expenses such as desexing and vaccinations are covered by the new owner, but larger vet fees are paid for via fundraising.
*To provide ongoing support and advice to those adopting through our service, as well as training and nutritional help, for the life of their pet.

# Please note, we can also rehome to people in and around Melbourne.
Harley is a 5 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 32kg male Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (Toller), who’s looking for a loving home. A home near the water would be fantastic!
He’s a loving, well socialised and very active boy who would suit an active family, happy to exercise him daily, either on lead or at the dog park. (He currently gets two walks a day). Harley would suit an all adult home or one with older, dog savvy children.
Harley would really love a home with another active, medium to large sized dog for company. He adores other dogs and is also good with cats. If the resident human was home during the day as well, that would be a bonus. 😊
He enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. Regular brushing/ grooming would also be required.
Harley’s adoption fee is $750

Nova is a 2 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 24kg female American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who’s looking for a loving home.
She’s a typical staffy: goofy and very loving. She’s also a very happy and communicative girl who loves to ‘chat.’ She loves belly rubs and cuddles on the couch, as well as going on her daily walks, family camping trips and other outdoor adventures. She’d thrive in a loving home with an experienced family. An all-adult home or one with older, dog savvy teenagers would suit.
Nova’s great with dogs she knows but requires an experienced owner who can help her with introductions to dogs she doesn’t know. She would suit a home with a compatible desexed male dog for company or being the sole pet of the home. She’s not been tested with cats.
She enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors.
Nova’s adoption fee is $450

Happy Adoption Tale!
Peaches our Chinese Crested x Mexican Hairless girl has found the perfect home with Amy, Rob and their Chinese Crested girl Poppy (adopted from No Hairs Ark).
We received this from Amy.
‘This year, I lost my first Hairless Chinese Crested dog, Jake to old age at almost 13 and then only months later my second hairless dog Melvin (also adopted from No Hairs Ark). Poppy had joined us in between the losses, but she had become quite fretful and lonely. She desperately needed a friend. Enter: PEACHES.
The first day they were together, the girls were a bit wary. Peaches, all 10kg of her, could be easily mistaken for a wombat crossed with an especially cute goat! After a couple of days sharing blankets, toys, treats and even- gasp! -parents, the girls started shyly leaning into each other when resting. Within two weeks, those accidental touches became full-on cuddles.
Those rests are very, very necessary as the girls spend most of their days chasing each other around the house, circling the couch, across the bed, outside in the garden, under the table, and everywhere they can!
They already adore each other and share snuggle time between valuable snuggler (Daddy) and less-valued snuggler (Mummy. How did this happen again?!)
Losing two beloved dogs in the span of a few months completely changed the atmosphere of our home. While we'll never forget our boys, our girls have brought barks, joy and chaos back into our lives.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped first Poppy (No Hairs Ark) and now Peaches (TARS) in coming home. Amy and Rob.’
Thanks Amy and Rob for giving lucky Peaches such a happy and fun new life with you all! 😊🐶🐶😊

# Readvertised: I’m still looking for a loving home!
Lino is a 2 year old desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 23kg male Red Heeler Cattle Dog, who’s looking for a loving home.
He’s a very affectionate, loyal and active boy who’d love to be a treasured member of the family, receiving lots of love and affection, plus his daily walks. He’d suit an experienced and active family in an all-adult home or one with dog-savvy teenagers.
Lino’s on anxiety medication and needs further socialisation as he was bitten by another dog and is now reactive towards dogs that rush at him. He’s also cautious around strangers who approach him suddenly.
He should be fine with a compatible desexed dog (we always do a meet and greet, plus trial period). Otherwise a pet-free home with someone who’s around during the day (ie: working from home or newly retired but active) would be great, as he loves company. Unfortunately Lino chases cats.
He enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. He’s also crate trained.
Lino’s adoption fee is $350

Friday is a 2 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 21kg female Whippet x Large Munsterlander, who’s looking for a loving home. (Please note, the Jack Russell Terrier is one of her friends and isn't up for adoption).
She’s a very affectionate and cuddly girl who would love a calm, loving home with an experienced owners. She’s also an active girl who loves her walks, so would suit an active family happy to exercise her daily. An all adult home or one with relaxed, dog savvy teenagers would be ideal.
Friday’s lived happily with another dog and cat and would love a home with another friendly, active dog for company. (She’s great with dogs and cats, as you can see from her photos).
She’s walked on lead as she can sometimes get spooked. She once tried to nip someone who jogged right up close to her, but having a calm and in control pack leader will help.
Friday enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors.
Friday’s adoption fee is $550

Helpful advice regarding dog thefts.

🆘Please be aware, we have noticed a continuing pattern of toy (Smaller Breeds) & Staffys (larger Bull Breeds) dogs going missing, these are the ones that mysteriously go missing and are never located.
You need to remember now is the time that the dog fighting rings are gearing up for their annual dog fights which allegedly happen around Christmas time.
I would hate to think what happens to these dogs and their final moments.
SO PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS SECURE AT ALL TIMES!!!!

Happy Adoption Tale!
Charlie our senior Maltese x Jack Russell Terrier has found a great new home with Pina and her husband Lino.
He’s loving his daily walks and meeting the other residents and their dogs at their retirement village. He also quickly mastered the dog door, so now he can get out amongst (or on top of..) nature whenever he wants to.
Despite this being Charlie’s 5th home (😲) he settled in quickly and loves his new family. He’s had an adventurous life, including time at a high kill pound, but he’s a happy, settled and very lucky boy now.
Thanks Pina and Lino for giving him a lovely home. 🐶❤️

Happy Adoption Tale!
Great Dane x Labrador Athena is a very lucky girl. Not only was she rescued once, but twice 😲
Her original owners left her with a couple while they went away… and then never came back. The lovely couple realised they couldn’t look after her long term, so they contacted TARS for help. After sorting out her ownership etc, we found Kris, her husband, two teenage daughters and their two cats. Their previous dog, a golden retriever, had sadly passed away of old age and they were ready to adopt another lucky dog. They couldn’t believe how quickly Athena settled in during her trial period. It was a given that she’d be staying. 😊
Here’s Athena in her new home, in her various moods. Goofy girl, loving girl and active girl. (She’d just had a 4km walk, but still wanted to play ball).
Thanks Kris and family for giving Athena such a fun and loving new home!

# Please note: we do home inspections so we can’t rehome to people outside of the greater Melbourne area.
Peaches is a 2 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 9kg female Chinese Crested X Mexican Hairless who’s looking for a loving home.
She’s a very sweet natured little girl who’s a big snuggler. She’d thrive in a happy, calm, all adult home or one with gentle, dog savvy older children.
Peaches is quite an active girl who loves her daily walks and is great with other dogs. She’d love a home with another small to medium sized dog for company. She’s also good with cats.
She enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. Because of her lack of a coat, she requires extra care such as wearing a jacket in the cold or rain. A home with a dog door would be ideal, so she can decide whether to be inside or out.
Peaches’ adoption fee is $650

Eleanor is a 20 month old desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 29kg female Golden Retriever x Standard Poodle, who’s looking for a loving home.
She’s a very affectionate and active girl, who’d love to be an integral part of the family. She’d suit an active and experienced family. An all adult home or one with older, dog savvy children would be ideal.
Eleanor loves her daily walks and time at the dog park. She especially loves playing fetch. She’s great with other dogs and would enjoy a home with another dog for company. A home with another Groodle, Labradoodle, Standard Poodle, Golden Retriever, Labrador or other similar large breed dog would be great. Eleanor’s not been tested with cats.
She enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. A home with a dog door would be ideal as Eleanor’s used to them. Otherwise, someone home during the day would be great. She also requires regular grooming.

# Readvertised: I’m still looking for a loving home!
Simba is an 11 month old desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 23kg male Tricolour Beagle x Harrier, who’s looking for a loving home. Please note, he’s bigger than your average beagle due to his Harrier side.
He’s a very affectionate, cheeky, playful, cuddly and active boy who’d suit an active and experienced family, in an all-adult home or one with older, dog-savvy children. He’d love to be a cherished member of the family and included in their daily lives.
Simba looks forward to his daily walks, as well as time at the local dog park. Given his breed(s) and their habit of following their nose, his recall isn’t great… unless there’s treats involved. Then his recall suddenly improves 😊
He loves other dogs and would definitely enjoy a home with another friendly and active, medium to large sized dog for company. He’s not been tested with cats.
Simba’s been to puppy school and is well trained. He enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors.
Simba’s adoption fee is $500
