The Animal Rehoming Service Inc. The Animal Rehoming Service Inc. (TARS) is a Melbourne based registered dog rescue charity. Est. 2000

OUR CHARTER IS:
*To act as a contact and liaison point between people who want to rehome their animals and people who wish to adopt them.
*To facilitate the provision of care and accommodation to genuinely homeless animals, by providing enriching foster homes when available, whilst finding them suitable permanent homes.
*To provide veterinary care for homeless animals, prior to placement in a suit

able permanent home. All animals are desexed prior to rehoming, to curb the exponential growth of unwanted animals in Victoria. When necessary, smaller vet expenses such as desexing and vaccinations are covered by the new owner, but larger vet fees are paid for via fundraising.
*To provide ongoing support and advice to those adopting through our service, as well as training and nutritional help, for the life of their pet.

# Update: Gina and Delta have found a great new home!
Gina (4 years old, weighing 10kg) and Delta (5 years old, weighing 8kg) are desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who are looking for a loving home together. (Delta's at the front in both photos).
Both girls are sweet-natured and very affectionate. Gina is slightly more shy, whilst Delta is a bit more dominant, but not in a bad way. She just expects to get the best spot on the couch 😊 Gina and Delta both enjoy their daily walks and are fine with most dogs, but can be spooked by larger dogs rushing at them. They’ve not been tested with cats.
Gina and Delta would love a home where they’d be treated as treasured members of the family. An experienced all-adult home or one with gentle, dog savvy teenagers would be ideal.
They enjoy an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. A home with a dog door would also be a bonus. Regular grooming would be required. They’ve just been freshly groomed (left photo).

Albert is a 21 month old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 42kg male Husky x who’s looking for a loving home. Yes he has two different coloured eyes 😍
He’s a very sweet and affectionate boy who’d love to be a treasured member of the family. Albert gets along well with both adults and older, dog savvy children. He’s also an active boy who would suit an active family, happy to exercise him at least once daily.
Albert hasn’t been tested with cats, but is great with other dogs. He’d enjoy a home with another active and playful dog for company.

Happy Adoption Tale!
Luca the Scottish Deerhound x has found a fantastic home on acreage down on the Bellarine Peninsula, with Judy, Garth and their three legged, deaf and super resilient girl, Riva the Labrador. She welcomed Luca into her family as if she’d know him for years. 🐶🐶
Judy and Garth also had years of experience with Deerhounds and Staghounds, so we couldn’t have asked for a better home for lucky Luca. 😊

Louie is a 6 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 29kg Labrador x Beagle who’s looking for a loving home.
He’s a very loving and active boy who would suit an active family, happy to exercise him daily. His three favourite things are cuddling up to his favourite people, getting a tummy rub and playing ball. He loves to fetch!
Louie would love a home with another dog for company. He’s also lived with a cat.
He enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. A home near the beach would be a bonus, as he loves the beach.

Happy Adoption Tale!
Benson the Australian Bulldog x has found a great new home with Paul, whose last dog Ruby made it to 17, so we knew Paul’s home was definitely worth considering.
As hoped, Benson settled in immediately, getting along famously with Paul’s son’s dog who’s a regular visitor there as well.
Paul wrote ‘Benson is a lovely dog. He’s already settling beautifully into his new home. With each passing day, his personality shines a little brighter—tail wagging, eyes full of trust and a growing sense of comfort. He has quickly become part of the my small family, bringing warmth, generating laughter and he’s a gentle reminder of how much joy a second chance can bring.’
Thank you Paul for giving lucky Benson such a great second chance!
Ps: Paul received some free SavourLife dog food when he adopted Benson as a thank you from the company. He had applied for Benson through their SavourLife Pet Adoptions site 😊🐶

Addison is a 6 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 19kg female Foxhound x Beagle, who’s looking for a loving home.
She’s a sweet natured, playful and active girl who loves cuddling up to her favourite people, as well as snoozing in a sunny spot in the garden. She’d love to be a treasured member of the family. She’d suit an active family, happy to walk her daily. An all-adult home or one with older, dog-savvy children would be great.
Addison has happily lived with both cats and dogs. She was attacked by a dog a few years ago though, so is now weary of dogs who rush at her, but is otherwise comfortable with friendly dogs. She’d love a home with another friendly dog for company.
She enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors.

Happy Adoption Tale!
We received these beautiful photos and words from Alison and her family after they recently adopted Gary the Kelpie. We’d been trying to find him exactly the right home since April. Finally his luck changed. ☺️
‘Gary is now well and truly part of our family! We are so pleased to have given him his new home after his first family could no longer care for him. He is loving his long walks and big sticks. With loads of pats and cuddles, there is happiness all round!’
Thanks Alison for giving him such a great home, a farm to run around in and so much love and attention. He’s a lucky boy! 🐶

Frankie is a 2 year old, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped 33kg male American Staffordshire Terrier, who’s looking for a loving home.
He’s a very cuddly and loving boy who’s also goofy and playful. He’d love to be a treasured member of an experienced family, giving and receiving lots of cuddles and involved in their daily lives.
Frankie’s an active boy who would suit an active family, happy to walk/ exercise him at least once daily.
An all-adult home or one with dog-savvy teenagers would suit given his size. He’d suit either a pet free home or one with a compatible dog for company. (Frankie’s lived with another dog but they started to fight as the hierarchy changed.)
Frankie’s prone to hotspots in warmer months, so a beef-free diet is recommended.
He enjoys an indoor/ outdoor lifestyle, sleeping indoors. A home with indoor access during the day would be a bonus. He doesn’t seem to like the dog beds he’s been given, so he prefers lying on the couch, on the bed or even on a blanket on the ground.
