When I was a small child, we had a cross breed called Patches. From there my father brought home a German Shepherd who we named the traditional GSD name Sheba. We were in love with the breed. Upon moving to Taree, Dad purchased a GSD bitch from Anne Bertram of Rainbow Flat, Berchil Sarah. This was a total surprise to the family. Dad was never without Sarah, his Landrover was never without this bea
utiful Grey Sable Girl. A couple of years later Dad decided to obtain his Breeders Prefix "Bernloch". This name was a combination of his two favourite racehorses, Bernborough and Tulloch. Dad, with the help of Anne Bertram, bred two litters of mainly sable babies. One of these I kept, Bernloch Chloe, and she was my introduction to the show scene. Upon Dad's passing I took up his prefix and have bred only a few German Shepherd litters in the last 15 years. I have now introduced Jack Russell Terriers to the mix as they are the most adorable little people, and really are a big dog in a little dogs body. We are a kennel that breeds for temperament first and foremost. I want our puppies to be loving little individuals who will give their owners/carers a life time of love and enjoyment. We have a responsibility as breeders to ensure that only the best traits are passed on from generation to generation. We have established an impressive base of bloodlines to produce what we think will be exceptional puppies for show, obedience and most importantly family companions. I would like to thank Lorraine King, Kerry and Sharon from Moonmagik Kennels, Lee & John Martens, Laurelle Reilly and Kathy Triffitt for the beautiful animals that we have purchased from them and that stand as the foundations of Bernloch Kennels.
Does anyone know where this lovely young man belongs. He was picked up in South Kempsey and the vets said he is approximately 13 weeks old. He is being well looked after but he really wants to go back home. He is microchipped but phone number is incorrect.
Had a great weekend away with 3 of my girls and some great mates. As usual we went too hard too fast and were over social on Friday night. I think there were lots of headaches on Saturday morning. Some great results for Bernloch Dolce winning Minor SCB both days and Bernloch Carrlotta being awarded 2nd Junior SCB. Thanks to Kylie Zimmerle and James Murray for their expert handling of the girls and Lorraine King for being the best doubler handler around. Dolce’s mum Reba came along for the trip and fell in love with the bed in the new van. Now to catch up on some sleep.

Our beautiful Bernloch Carrlotta (Jarrahhause Doomeekwik x Bernloch Wanda, a Fred daughter) can now add AZ to her name after smashing her Hip and Elbow Xrays with a score of 1/2, 0/0. Lotti is a delight to own and loves the showring. Thanks to Bronson Periera and Kuirau Kennels for making this mating possible. Onward and upward now my girl x.
We are very proud of our beautiful Bernloch Dolce (Cinderhof Raffaa x Bernloch Reba) who at 4.5 months was placed 2nd from 12 in the Baby Puppy Stock Coat female class at the 50th GSD National in Adelaide recently. Such a big trip for a baby but she handled it extremely well. Thanks to Kylie for handling her in the class, Lorraine for helping double handle and along with Lyn, delivering her safely home to me. Next show is closer to home thank goodness.
Bernloch Dolce visited her Dad and Jorja today and did a very good job of being a shop dog.
Today our 9 week old Cinderhof Raffaa x Bernloch Reba babies went to their new homes. There were quite a few tears from me. Our little Dolce is a little lonely but I’m sure these kids will have great lives.
He is still looking for his forever person. Beautiful Dante is now 5 weeks old and will be ready to leave in 4 weeks. Send me a message for more information on this delightful little man.

Reba x Raffaa babies are a week old today and thriving. They have all doubled their birth weights. We now wait for their eyes to open. Reba is doing an amazing job. We have boys available from this litter.
The babies have arrived. Everyone is doing well. I am so relieved 😮💨
We are so excited to announce that we have puppies on the way. Our new additions will be arriving just before Xmas. This combination should be top shelf, can't wait to meet them.
Just back home from a lovely day with good friends at the GSDL Show in Sydney. My girls didn’t let me down with Lotti, Bernloch Carrlotta, winning the Stock Coat Minor Puppy Female class and Reba, Bernloch Reba, being awarded 4th Excellent in Stock Coat Open Female class. Poor Reba was in her un**es but we made it to the end of the class without being totally bald. Thanks to James Murray for handling the girls and to Lorraine King for her excellent double handling.

Due to a change in circumstances, there are a couple of Bernloch Jack Russells looking for a new family to love them. Ideally they would go together but understand that this may not be possible. They are almost 5 year old brother and sister, both with broken coats. These little dogs are great with other dogs and have been very loved and well socialised. What a great weekend we had in Brisbane for the GSDCQ Members Comp and State Breed with Jess Kada and Alastair Henderson officiating. My two girls didn’t disappoint. First up the naughty girl of the crew, Bernloch Carrlotta showed her little butt off for two wins. Thanks to Pete Hersant for your beautiful handling of her. Bernloch Reba loves to run. This was displayed beautifully over the weekend. Big thanks go to Kylie Zimmerle for taking the lead on my special girl. She was awarded first in the open class, challenge and ru best of breed on Saturday and 2nd in the open class on Sunday. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments on both my girls ❤️
