Can you give Morticia a loving home?

Morticia is a 5 year old Afghan Hound girl and retired show dog, currently located in Melbourne. She is looking for a home after the sudden death of her person.

She is a happy, typical Afghan girl. Morticia is fine with children - for most of her show career her handler was a young girl, and they developed a beautiful bond with one another.

You might be Morticia’s new person if:

- You don’t have cats or pocket pets - Morticia is not cat safe

- You have a 6 foot fenced secure yard including secure gates

- You are happy to keep her coat clean and knot free through regular brushing and taking her to a groomer to be regularly clipped down. She is clipped off now, and we can arrange for advice/mentoring in regards to her grooming or any other aspect

- You are an experienced Sighthound owner, particularly someone experienced with Afghans or related breeds like Salukis

- You have a sense of humour and are patient. Morticia may take some time to settle in and you must be willing to invest in her over the long haul - once she has bonded with you (and your family), she will be a loving member of your home

To inquire about Morticia, drop an email to [email protected] with your phone number and some information about you, your home and your family, and why you can provide a great home for Morticia.

There will be a small adoption fee to cover her desexing and ensure that she is going to a suitable home. Please note that Morticia will be desexed prior to placement and this is non-negotiable.

Placement of Morticia is subject to a home check. Preference will be given to a home in Victoria to assist with mentoring and support, and so that a meet and greet can also occur prior to adoption. Interstate placement will be considered for the right home.
