Common plants that are safe for your cat
Previously we shared common indoor plants that are toxic to cats. But what are some pet-friendly plant alternatives that are safe for our feline family members?
Remember that even pet-friendly plants should be monitored to ensure that your cat doesn't show any signs of interest in chewing or digging them. If you're introducing a new plant to your home, observe your cat's behaviour around it for the first few days to ensure they're not showing any adverse reactions.

Keeping your pet cool during the summer is crucial to ensure their wellbeing and some pets are more susceptible to heat than others. Here are some reminders and tips on how to do it!
1. Never leave in a parked car: even with the windows cracked, a parked car can become dangerously hot within minutes. Never leave your pet in a parked car.
2. Stay informed: Be aware of the signs of heatstroke, which can include heavy panting, excessive drooling, rapid heartbeat, and weakness. If you suspect heatstroke, seek immediate veterinary care.
3. Supervise around water: not all pets are strong swimmers. If your pet is around water, supervise them to ensure their safety.
Remember to consider your pet's individual needs, energy level, and any limitations they may have when selecting hot day activities.

Today, on #RUOKDay, let's remember that our furry friends may not have words, but they communicate with us every day. ๐พ๐ฌ Check in on your pet's wellbeing with these tips:
- Observe their behaviour: Changes in eating, drinking, or activity levels can signal something's amiss.

- Show them love: Sometimes, a little extra cuddle time is all they need.
- Safe space: Ensure they have a comfy, safe spot to relax in.
- Balanced diet: Good nutrition keeps them healthy and happy.
Remember, a happy pet means a happy home ๐ถ๐ฑ๐

Welcoming the newest member of our amazing animal loving team! Aside from her incredible veterinary knowledge in and outside of the clinic, get to know Cherri; from her recent discoveries to her favourite pet care tip:
Cool hobby or secret obssession? โ๏ธ I love free diving! I've been an avid swimming since I was a baby and I love being in the water. There's something magical about being completely immersed, so weightless and quiet. When I moved to Australia I started to free dive as there are so many amazing beaches to explore here. Not only do I get the same magical feeling of being in the water, I also get to interact with the amazing sea creatures of Sydney!
Random funfact ๐ A dog's nose print is like our fingerprint - each one is unique!
A recent discovery? ๐ My co-workers introduced me to fostering greyhounds! There are so many greyhound rescues in NSW and even more greyhounds that need a home. They are some of the easiest and best dogs I have ever interacted with (and this is coming from someone who used to be obssessed with small fluffy dogs).
Something you found unique at Petsy ๐พ Everyone seems to really care about the product and the company. It's always inspiring to work with people who genuinely want to help their brand grow and keep their customers happy.

This is Alvinโs special story โ Alvinโs journey in finding his furever home began when he was rescued from a Romanian forest where he was found abandoned, luckily he was adopted by a kind-hearted couple in the United Kingdom.
Found at the age of 3, he took a little while to warm up to his new family but quickly became their new best friend and fellow explorer. When his parents decided to relocate to Australia, they HAD to bring their new little fur-baby along with them so a journey across the skies landed little Alvin on the east coast of Australia.
After two long months of boarding and quarantine, Alvin was finally reunited with his family and is now happily enjoying many Australian adventures. Quite the little jet setter and bagging more air miles than some humans!
Thanks to Alvinโs mum for sharing their story on one very special Petsypet. Weโre so glad to hear that Alvin was able to find his forever home with such a wonderful family. Hereโs to Alvin, the forest-found furball turned global explorer ๐
