Puppy Preschool Face to Face classes:
We run puppy preschool for several clinics in the Hills District, as of this weekend I have been informed that we are NOT yet going back to face to face and I will be contacted by the vet practice owners when we are allowed to resume ( Hopefully soon ) Please understand that although restrictions have eased, these businesses are a location that provide medical and emergency care for sick pets and if we get a positive covid case in class it could directly affect them closing for 14 days. I respect this decision as much as I am itching to get back to face to face classes ! Once face to face classes go back QR codes and double vaccination proof will be required until further restrictions on businesses change.
Online Puppy Preschool : Is offered as an alternative for now . We offer the identical course that we run face to face, and cover important topics on puppy raising, socialisation, behaviour advice and also train the puppies to follow commands and learn manners excercises. Because outdoor restrictions have eased we can tee up puppy owners who want to meet each other outside of the class , to meet in a controlled way somewhere safe for their pups vaccine status.
Grooming : As of this week we are open for grooming for all dogs, not just welfare clips . So baths, deshedding and regular grooming is allowed again! Grooming will remain contactless where I collect dogs from the carpark, following a COVID Safe Plan.
* Please note I have full books at the moment, I have the occasional vacancy for new enquiries, regular clients on a regular schedule remain as priority bookings. Where I can fit in new groom clients I will.
One on One Training :
One on one dog training will resume but at this stage we will require double vaccine status to offer this service. I personally live with a family member immune compromised so cannot make exceptions at this stage of restrictions and am following the public health orders until they change.

You can train your puppy in the comfort of your home, while being guided by a professional dog trainer live.
We are disapponted we cannot currently service face to face classes but do have a wonderful course in which a trainer is live weekly with the group teaching puppies basic obedience, providing behaviour advice and providing the building blocks to have confident puppies entering the big world!
Our trainers are qualified dog trainers with additional studies completed in puppy behaviour and development. We use positive reinforcement training methods.

Even though we can't meet face to face right now we have a wonderful course wirh video tutorials and a live weekly group session with your puppy trainer. Don't wait to start puppy school, your pups are the most impressionable between 8-20 weeks of age so the time is now !
There is a misconception that puppy school is mostly about the play interaction with other puppies , and whilst controlled social contact with other dogs is important , it is only a small part of puppy preschool on the whole . Our focus is to give puppy owners the tools build a puppies confidence in everyday life , teaching puppies to confidently follow basic commands, and arming puppy parents with up to date advice on in home set up, biting , toilet training, independence building and so much more !

We have a new service available for existing and new friends of Adore The Paw ! We will now be offering dog walking and outings in the Hills District area with a qualified dog trainer .
If you dont have alot of time to walk your dog as much as you would like , or simply want to increase their excercise and enrichment while you work , let us know if we can help you!
We offer private walks , multiple dogs are only walked from the same family - so your dog has one on one attention and is safely handled. We used positive reinforcement rewards during our training services and this will extend to our lead walking outings.
We cater to special needs pets too , see below
-Leash walks around your local area ( 30-60 mins )
- Puppy Play Visits ( designed for pups who havent finished their vaccination courses yet to break up their day )
- Home visits for cuddles and check ins ( for pets alone for long periods of time, senior pets or pets with a recovery injury that cant go for walks etc)
- Adventure Outings - to a park , bush walk or beach etc

On house rest myself after knee surgery I’ve got abit of time on my hands so decided To make a video about one of my new grooming clients : Alpha the German Shepherd . He was a SWEETHEART and we had lots of treats and I received more face licks than anticipated -he’s fast ! You will see in the video the sheer amount of hair we got out with a deshed groom. Double coated dogs need to have a deshed 4 times a year , and have their coat kept brushed regularlyto prevent impacted undercoat and prevent a shave off . Shaving double coated breeds is not recommended as it can affect the dogs ability to thermo regulate and also double coated dogs risk their coat not always growing back to its original condition if clipped ! How beautiful is Alpha , inside and out ! ❤️🐾
Snuffle Mats : super sniffy enrichment ! Yesterday I Made a snuffle mat, inspired by one of my clients who has been organising a puzzle a day for her Cavoodle ! Snuffle mags encourage dogs to use their nose properly to scavenge out their food - this is a great mental excercjse and slows their eating right down! You can purchase these pre made by someone OR make one but my goodness it’s time consuming! If you have kids maybe bribe them as a school holidays activity 😂 You need -1x black door mat from Bunnings $6 -Hundreds of strips of polar fleece 20-30cm long and 2-3cm wide -Time ( a lot ) and patience It was a hit with my dogs , now to Make some for puppy class ! 🤯
