Pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a powerful neurotoxin that can cause:
❌ Rapid paralysis (starting in the back legs)
❌ Breathing difficulties
❌ Vomiting, tremors, and seizures

✔️ Always keep your dog on a leash at the beach
✔️ Stop them from eating or sniffing washed-up fish

Beware of Grass Seeds – A Hidden Danger for Dogs!
This is Polare. She came in to Newport today for the removal of multiple grass seeds. 🌱🐾
Grass seeds might seem harmless, but they can cause big problems for your furry friend. These tiny seeds can embed themselves in your dog's paws, ears, eyes, or skin, leading to pain, infections, and even abscesses.
Signs to watch for:
- Limping or licking paws excessively.
- Head shaking or ear scratching.
- Red, swollen areas, or discharge around the eyes, nose, or skin.
How to prevent grass seed injuries:
- Check your dog’s paws, ears, and fur after walks, especially in grassy areas.
- Keep long fur around the paws, ears, and belly trimmed.
- Avoid areas with long grass when possible.
If your pet shows any of these signs, don't delay – grass seeds can burrow deeper and cause serious complications.
