Last puppy preschool for 2024.

Our last puppy group starts in Thomastown this Saturday.

After this date people will contact us and we will have no options for them. If you or someone you know needs puppy preschool this year this is it.

Puppy schools are not the same. Our program is operated by highly skilled, experienced behavioural focused industry leaders. We are not sales orientated. We are educators and we give our everything to ensure our students leave fully equipped to build a confident, resilient companion that can be included in daily life.

Over the festive season we are going to see a range of cute rawhide "treats" hit the market for dogs. Please do not give these to your animals. They are not food. They are a chemical cocktail. If you Google how these are made you will wonder why they are allowed to sell them.

We include our pets in the festivities. We prefer to give them real food products like the many different ears that are sold for pets to chew. The really cool thing is that they like these things better anyway.

Don't buy into the marketing.

Recently whilst logged on to the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants page I discovered this. At the time of achievement I did not receive a certificate so I was happily surprised to find it had been issued.

This certification recognises me as a multi-species behaviour Consultant. It means I have successfully passed three divisions with high scores on both the academic assessment and the assessment of my real life behavioural cases. I worked hard for this. IAABC standards are high.

It is my proudest achievement.

I am the first and only Australian to achieve the multi-species credentials.

The last Puppy Preschools for 2024 have been scheduled for Thomastown and Kilmore, and places are already being booked.

We run a 4 week course for puppies, covering socialisation, body language, behaviour, good manners training, problem prevention, harmonious households and building a great relationship for your new best mate.

Kilmore starts on the evening of Tuesday the 12th of November.
Thomastown starts on the morning of Saturday the 23rd of November.

Chaske alerted us to this little visitor today, with some higher pitched "alert" barking. We have practiced some emergency recalls, and Hania and Ashanee immediately moved back inside, while Chaske ran back to me. Ahanu completely ignored the snake, preferring to hold a ball in preparation for a game.
Little red was on the other side of the dog fence (outside the yard), we have been vigilant in checking and maintaining the fence for this very reason.
As it moved on, while Ashanee and Chaske looked on with much interest through the window, we had a second opportunity to train the "look at that" game and calm behavior.
Everything is an opportunity!

Last night Kristyn and Ragnar had their first loose lead walking lesson at puppy preschool. Today I found this beautiful video in my inbox. Well done team!

Practice and keeping training sessions fun create willing participants. Willing participants thrive.

Please note Ragnar walks on the right side as this is easier for Kristyn. We can tailor to your needs. Training can be flexible.

We think young Ragnar is going to be a rock star! We love that he is being set up for success from day one. Ragnar will be a big dog so teaching him what we want rather than waiting for him to mess up means a lot less stress for both parties further down the track.

Chaske (as seen in Bunnings a little while back), would like to remind everyone that Thomastown Puppy School is coming up this Saturday the 19th of October at 10am, and we have 2 places left!

While Chaske is a little older now, his Puppy School training gave him an excellent foundation around social behaviours, good manners, reading cues and adjusting play styles. He's proven to be a popular chap around the school in regular classes, and specialist reactivity sessions.

If you have a pup and want to get some great foundational training, socialisation and behaviour solutions in place, get in quick!
