Little Izzy is ready to find her forever home. She's a petite little package with terrier sass and a dose of Dora the Explorer. Izzy prefers a peaceful home with active people and loads of space to run. No kids for this girl. She needs respect for her personal space.

Sure, Izzy is affectionate, but she's not a retiring lap dog. She wants adventure, fun, and freedom to be herself.

Little Harper is an unexpected rescue, but she's more than welcome all the same.

The next step for her is some extensive veterinary treatment and surgeries, and then she'll be ready for her forever home.

We are at crisis point. No one is adopting, and dogs are still coming in. Ben and Simon are at risk.

Please consider fostering one of these boys. It's not for forever. It's just until we can find their forever homes.

Our delightful senior, Herbie, is looking for a calm home with people who are gentle, kind and patient with him. I don’t need to tell you he’s had a hard life … so many rescue dogs have. He wants to trust, and looks for love and support to help him relax and enjoy shared affection. He has had to be prepared for a less-than-kind hand and prefers to retreat to safety when he feels in danger. He doesn’t need to do that anymore.

Herbie is used to keeping his own company and is happy to occupy himself when you’re busy. He will follow you around like a shadow and check in with a little nose boop from time to time. He is learning about cuddles and enjoys them thoroughly. He is reserved around strangers but interested in getting to know them. He is not comfortable around children and can be overwhelmed around big bouncy dogs. He’ll stand up for himself and doesn’t need to be troubled by dogs in his face. He has shown no interest in cats and is happy wondering around the hobby farm with horses and sheep.

Herbie likes a car ride. It’s an adventure he gets excited about. He does need to be secured, otherwise he might just climb in your lap while you’re driving. He is well behaved being washed, brushed, medicated, and at vet visits. He walks nicely on lead and has reasonable recall once he knows you.

Herbie has the usual ailments of a senior. His eyesight isn’t brilliant and he is missing some teeth. He has been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus which is not the same as the diabetes we all know of. Diabetes insipidus involves water intake and regulation. Feel free to google for more details. He has a medication regime. He also needs his people to manage his water intake and understand that he will have toilet accidents inside some times.

Maggie recently came to us from a local animal facility. She was surrendered and was extremely traumatised by the abandonment. We agreed that she would be more able to cope outside of the shelter environment.

So far, so good. She's a little shy and wary still, but she's very interested in learning to trust. Oh and she LOVES playing with other dogs.

The boys had a play date today and then put on their bestest boi faces for some structured fun. Resident poser, Fluke, hosted Ben the Heeler and Hunter the Border Collie.

Our senior boy, Herbie, is ready for his forever home.

Herbie is a special needs boy who has a rare medical condition and a history of neglect. He tries not to let it get him down, and he is happiest when he feels safe. He puts on a brave face, but he's a real softie and quite a sensitive soul.

Herbie wants a quiet home with gentle, patient, and supportive people.

Beau came into our care last week, and he has spent that time charming visitors, winning hearts, and taking in the country air. He's a sensitive kid who isn't too keen on change but looks to his person for guidance and encouragement.

He prefers a child free home, a person who understands how special a Border Collie can be, and an active lifestyle where he gets to use his brain and his muscles.

Beau will be available for adoption soon, and expressions of interest are welcome.
