This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do.. The Healing Monkey will be closed until further notice from the 4th May 2024. For those of you who have booked appointments, I'll be calling you in the next few days to reschedule. This decision did not come easily. I'll be moving to Erskine, then I'll have a break for a while to find my feet again. A massive thank you to everyone who have been apart of this dog grooming family for more than 20 years. 🥺❤️Marina

Finally, I have a date with the hospital. Tuesday 5th March that cataract will pop out and a brand new one will pop in. I'll be off work for a few days. Hopefully back on track by the 8th. Marina😀

The studio will be closed from Friday 26th January until Tuesday 30th January. On Monday 29th, I will not be able to return calls as I'm spending the morning having a deep dental clean then in the afternoon I'll be having a tooth pulled. YAY! 😁

I have just seen this post which I think relates to everyone. Many people are under the impression that crates are cruel. I thought that once too. Crate training is important. They are crated for safety at the vet and groomer. Crate training could save their lives. Please crate train.

I wish to make a very important request.
PLEASE encourage your clients to create their evacuation plans and kits especially for their pets.
In these kits need to have the following:
A copy of their most recent vaccinations, their council registration and flea work and tick treatment, a spare lead and collar, a sample of their food, a couple of bowls and a large bottle of water.
And if possible encourage crate training for the case they need to be at a evacuation centre or a family/friends place. Centres are more accommodating when they can be crated
I am a firefighter(RFS 10yrs) and they are predicting conditions similar to the 2019/2020 fire season.

My next available appointments are: Friday 26th May at 11.30am. Saturday 10th June at 8.30 and Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June. Small dogs only. Don't forget to brush your dog during winter. A few clumpy mats here and there we can fix. but if that hairy fur is not maintained it will mat to the skin. It's stressful and painful to brush out for the dog. Most people make the mistake of delaying their winter clip due to the cold but then find around late July/August their dog is matted to the skin which means short cut. Maintain a medium coat through winter or keep them short and tidy with the lastest K mart coat trend. You'll have a happier healthier poochie.

I would like to apologise to anyone who went home with a wrong appointment date, got a weird text or picked up a dog with wonky un even ears. Yes Noodle's mum, I did have to go to Specsavers, but unfortunately they found a cataract. Once it's out I should be good as new. 😜
