🎈 INTRODUCING TEENS IN TRAINING!!🎈

A 4 week program for teenage pups ages 3 to 12 months.
These group classes are the perfect follow on from puppy class, for older pups who might have just missed out on puppy school or teen pups and their parents who need a bit of extra help. Teens in Training class is run in an outdoor environment to help teach your pup will learn to focus on you in the presence of other dogs and distractions in a real world environment.
Classes will cover recall, loose lead walking, a base to improve your pup’s obedience skills as well as general life skills.

✨️Starting Sunday 7th July at 7am at Shearwater Spoonbill Reserve in Stirling. Classes are $160.

I had one extremely interested audience member on Monday at my talk 'Dogs at weddings AKA the cutest photos you'll ever see" at the Dog West Open Day.

All the speakers were brilliant and it was so great to see so many gorgeous breeds out and about.

❤️‍🔥 What I ACTUALLY do as a Pet Chaperone ❤️‍🔥

When some people think of Pet Chaperone, they think I just drive the dogs to and from the wedding.

Others are a little more on the money in thinking I drive them to and from, walk them before, get them down the aisle, help with photos, feed them dinner.

But girlfriend, it's so much more than that.

I'm a maximalist at heart, and when it comes to a wedding day, I'm here to make it ✨️special✨️

So whilst I've 100% got your dog's back, making sure they are having the best time. I'm also here to

carry extra bags,

I recently got this message from a client who was having some major difficulties with their 6 month old puppy jumping and mouthing all over them when they sat down.
To the point they were having to stand up to eat.

We implemented some management strategies to begin with whilst we work on teaching him the skills to chill out on his mat/whilst he's away from them.

Puppy's are going to puppy and sometimes some simple management options can provide well, the best night you've ever had.

She's got absolutely no practical pet care skills whatsoever... cant even hold her own head up, let alone a lead. But is impressed she's getting paid in bottles. Dont worry she gets casual loading penalties.

🐾 Dog walker & Pet Care attendant 🐾

We are looking for someone who has experience and knowledge of dog behaviour or a willingness to learn. Our goal is to provide an impeccable level of care to both our four and 2 legged clients through the use of Positive Reinforcement and force free methods. None of this "You need to be the Boss" nonsense here.

So if you want to enrich the lives of Perth doggos, enjoy being outdoors and become a Professional Dog Mum or Dad, keep on reading!

THE POSITION

The job will initially start as casual (approx. 10hrs per week), with the expectation of Maternity leave cover. An increase in hours will be offered to the right person.

Driving to clients homes and performing the following services.

1. Dog Adventures (i.e. taking our current group of clients on adventures out and about)
2. Enrichment Visits (i.e. go to a clients home and providing enrichment through walks training & engagement and play.)
3. Pet Wedding Chaperone - Assisting couples to include their dogs on their big day.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. We have an extremely high standard of care, and use only force free, positive reinforcement handling & training methods. This is a non-negotiable so if this is not your style, please do not apply.

2. We would love to bring on someone that either has (or wants to) advance their career in pet care & dog walking, and has an interest in R+ training & body language. Not someone who just has owned dogs or just loves dogs… we all love dogs.

3. You must be a organised, reliable & able to work on your own to be considered.

4. You must be able to take constructive feedback as whilst we aim to have fun, safety is a priority and the welfare of not only our clients but the public is priority.

5. A police clearance and at least 2 professional references.

6. Your own car and valid licence is essential.

7. You must be over 18.

𝗠 𝗔 𝗫

Max is in what I like to jokingly call his Teenage Renaissance 🤘

Think back to what we were like when we were teens. Care free, making wild choices, having fun, often not listening to our parents, testing boundaries, brains all full of hormones... living it up really.

Overall the teen phase can be one of the hardest for not only us dog guardians as it can be frustrating as all Hell, but also for our young four legged whipper-snappers as their brain chemistry changes whilst they are maturing.

The key is to:
💕Take it easy on them & lower your expectations
💕Go back to basics & revisit those foundation skills
💕Make their world easier and smaller. Maybe now isn't the best time for group play dates and Cafe visits
💕 Be patient!! They are doing the best with the information they have.

Luckily for Max, his parents & are dedicated in helping him navigate this time in his life with training, new hobbies (dog sport) and a whole lot of love.

And to give credit where credit is due, he chose to chill on his bed whilst we had a chat.
