IMPORTANT : ACTION MAY BE NEEDED TO PROTECT YOUR PET'S MICROCHIP REGISTRATION

We have received an Australian Veterinary Association press release regarding the uncertain future of the microchip registry HomeSafeID.

While HomeSafeID is not in liquidation, its related company, PET ELECTRONIC TAGS (P.E.T.S) PTY LTD, is. Both share the same sole director, who is currently unreachable. The HomeSafeID website (homesafeid.com) remains online but may go offline at any time. The company is unresponsive to calls and emails, and new registrations or transfers may not be processed.

Park Ridge Animal Hospital and Browns Plains Veterinary Surgery have never been affiliated with HomeSafeID. However, some of our patients may be registered with them if their microchip was implanted elsewhere or if they were adopted through RSPCA or Pet Rescue.

What You Need to Do:
✅ Check your pet’s microchip details at petaddress.com.au
✅ Update any outdated information
✅ If your pet is registered with HomeSafeID, transfer their details to another database.
Australasian Animal Registry, Central Animal Records, and Global Microchip Animal Registry all have dedicated website links to assist HomeSafeID customers.

If you are unsure of your pet’s microchip number or need help accessing the PetAddress website, our Customer Care Team is happy to assist. Our priority is ensuring your pet’s microchip details are accurate and accessible if they ever go missing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

Um, hello? Hi, um pleased to meet you, my name is Zeke and if it is Ok, I would like to tell you a bit about me. My story didn’t start off so great, there were some people in my past that weren’t so nice and it took me a bit of time to learn that not all people are so mean. You see, sometime ago I met my fairy foster-godmother and she has just been the most amazing person for me. Her job is now done though, and it is time for me to find my forever people.

I have learnt to trust people, and I really like to choose one main person to make my world. I love to be with them as much as possible and would just be the most loyal companion you could ever have. I was a bit clingy at first, but my fairy godmother has shown me that some alone time is ok. I am now quite happy to spend my day securely at home, with a bone or treat or two and just explode with happiness when you walk back thorough that gate.

Routines are important to me. They make me feel safe and secure. I love a daily walk to spread my long legs and check out the neighbourhood. I can be quite strong and will require a confident handler with large dog experience.

At home, I will need to be one of the family. I will need a home where I can be inside with my people and have my own safe spots for sleeping and having time outs. My yard will need to be safe and secure and fences will need to be solid, a minimum of 6ft high and have no gaps underneath. I will also need all your focus on me, so no other pets or dogs please.

I have met children before, but they can be a bit loud and ruin my zen, so I would prefer a home with no children under teenage age. My absolute favourite home would be with an empty-nester couple or single person who could just make me their world – we all deserve that, right? I should warn you that at first meeting, men do scare me a little due to my past, but with some kindness and understanding, I do come to learn that not all men are that bad, I do live with 2 now.

Like I said earlier, now is time for my happy ending. I have been waiting long enough and my foster Mum has told me I have learnt all that she can teach me. If you have just the right home for me, I would love to hear more about you. The SHAMROQ team have told me that they would consider a foster with view to adopt arrangement. Please go to www.shamroq.org.au/adoption to kick off the process.

Animal shelters say they rely on being able to post on Facebook to get thousands of animals adopted each year.
