IMPORTANT : ACTION MAY BE NEEDED TO PROTECT YOUR PET'S MICROCHIP REGISTRATION
We have received an Australian Veterinary Association press release regarding the uncertain future of the microchip registry HomeSafeID.
While HomeSafeID is not in liquidation, its related company, PET ELECTRONIC TAGS (P.E.T.S) PTY LTD, is. Both share the same sole director, who is currently unreachable. The HomeSafeID website (homesafeid.com) remains online but may go offline at any time. The company is unresponsive to calls and emails, and new registrations or transfers may not be processed.
Park Ridge Animal Hospital and Browns Plains Veterinary Surgery have never been affiliated with HomeSafeID. However, some of our patients may be registered with them if their microchip was implanted elsewhere or if they were adopted through RSPCA or Pet Rescue.
What You Need to Do:
✅ Check your pet’s microchip details at petaddress.com.au
✅ Update any outdated information
✅ If your pet is registered with HomeSafeID, transfer their details to another database.
Australasian Animal Registry, Central Animal Records, and Global Microchip Animal Registry all have dedicated website links to assist HomeSafeID customers.
If you are unsure of your pet’s microchip number or need help accessing the PetAddress website, our Customer Care Team is happy to assist. Our priority is ensuring your pet’s microchip details are accurate and accessible if they ever go missing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
