If you have been thinking about buying our DiggerDog Nail File, now is a good time 👍 Australian Invention, Made in Melbourne 🇦🇺 To find out more and to buy, visit www.diggerdognailfile.com. We ship worldwide 🌎
It’s amazing how the instinct to scratch/dig for food kicks in! The DiggerDog Nail File was invented because we saw an opportunity to utilise this instinct and get the dog (our Doberman ‘Zana’) to file her own front nails. The front nails tend to be more problematic - they grow faster and get less worn down during walking. Often dogs hate having their front nails trimmed. The DiggerDog Nail File is designed specifically for the front nails.
Here is ‘Marty’ and ‘Simon’ filing their front nails during a Nail Board training session @embark_dog.
Thank you so much Heather for sending this gorgeous video.

And here is Skeeter using her DiggerDog Nail File :)
Darleen from the USA recently sent me a couple of videos of her Border Collies 'Tater' and 'Skeeter' using their DiggerDog Nail File. Darleen wrote:
'We live in Pennsylvania. Both dogs are Border Collies. The smaller, tricolor one is Tater. She is nine. She works sheep and ducks. We trial occasionally in Open. She has also passed AKC intermediate trick dog test. The larger, black and white is Skeeter. She is six. She was started on sheep but due to injuries, both hers and mine, we haven’t worked for quite a long time. She has passed the AKC novice trick dog test. Both are very smart and learn quickly. Both learned to use the Diggerdog nail trimmer the first time we tried it. I love it because I don’t have to worry about quicking their black nails with clippers. They love it for the treats!! Thanks for a great product!!'
Thank you for supporting our product Darleen and for sending these videos of your beautiful dogs :)
Here is Tater using her DiggerDog Nail File.....
Here is 'Azzo' (@mr_azzo) and his DiggerDog Nail File. His owner writes:
‘The concept is amazing so THANK YOU!
Azzo is a Bracco Italiano, 3 years old. He loves his paws being handled unless he sees clippers, he can smell them coming from the deepest sleep.
Not only does this help his nails but it is also great for his mind!'
Here is Video 2 - this goes with the previous post. Marlene's Kelpie 'Maxy'. Great work Maxy!
Marlene, from Western Australia, recently purchased the file and a few days ago sent this lovely email:
Good Morning Irena
Thank you so much for the digger dog file it’s an absolute beauty 👍🏻
We have two beautiful male kelpies who we have struggled with nail clipping - this product is a game changer.
The instructions provided were fantastic
and we are very grateful for this product.
Here are our boys Maxy (blk/tan) and Archie (brown/tan) using the digger dog nail file for the first time!
I will definitely be recommending this product to Everyone!!!
Thank you ###
Marlene
We put a lot of effort into our little product - the first of its kind in the world and Made in Australia - and it is so nice to get such lovely feedback from our human (and canine :)) customers.
Thanks Marlene, Archie and Maxy
Here is Archie using the file, which he shares with his brother Maxy (in video 2). A pretty impressive effort for his first time using it!
Here is 'Willow' the three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (courtesy of @_willowthecattledog_) from South Australia. She is just learning to use her DiggerDog Nail File. A big Thank you to Willow's owner Molly, for sharing this cute little video.
Here is a little cutie from the UK - 'Maci' the Border Collie.
Her owner Sheila purchased the DiggerDog Nail File a few months ago and kindly sent me a video of Maci with her file. It has taken me a little while to post this but here it is.
Sheila provided the following information about Maci:
'Maci will be 2 on the 26th December. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is a pure-bred Border Collie from Cornwall UK.
Maci learnt how to use the file pretty fast but initially wanted to open the drawer herself. She now does a little grumble when she uses it. She gets so excited when I get the file out of the cupboard because it means treat time.'
Thank you, Sheila and Maci :)
Does your dog hate having its nails trimmed?
Our DiggerDog Nail File may be the solution.
Here is 9-month-old Jack Russell Terrier 'Pippa', learning to trim her front nails on the DiggerDog Nail File.
Kaya, the American Bulldog, was very timid to start with. Now, she is making good progress with her file - even swapping legs.
'Hadley' the 18-month-old Australian Kelpie filing down her front nails on the DiggerDog Nail File.
Kelby, from @fullofbeans_dogtraining sent us this nice little video of her dog Finn using his new file. Kelby wrote:
'Nail trimming can be the worst part of owning a dog, they don’t like it and you don’t like having to do it. I can help!! During my enrichment visits I can bring my DiggerDog Nail File and help deal with those long nails'!
Thank you Kelby and Finn - we hope the file will help many of your canine clients.
Here is video 2 - Arlo, the little Cairn Terrier filing his nails.
Thank you for sending the videos Kitty - much appreciated.
Well done Arlo - you are doing very well with your DiggerDog Nail File.
'Arlo' the Cairn Terrier @arlos_ears lives in New Zealand. His file arrived not too long ago and it looks like he has made friends with it. This strange looking little 'friend' gives him yummy treats when he scratches at it so no wonder he wants to play!
Arlo's mum Kitty writes:
'Arlo had got to the point of not letting us touch his paws. He’s 2 and the friendliest dog but wouldn’t let anyone clip his nails anymore or use the worlds silentest file. He’s very food driven so he picked this up within ten minutes. Today would have been his 4th session. He even scratches at it when there isn’t food in it, so I have to hide it. I don’t want him to stop if he doesn’t get rewarded.'
Here is Arlo, keen to play with his new buddy :)
This video is one of two - video two shows Arlo filing his nails (and having fun at the same time).
Here we have another handsome little man - Finnish Lapphund 'Moose' from @its.ya.boy.moose filing his own nails without stress.
Moose may very well be the first of his breed to use our DiggerDog Nail File.
Here is a quick overview of the Finnish Lapphund - a breed that I don't know much about
(source: www.dogsnsw.org.au)
'The Finnish Lapphund is a Spitz breed originating from Lapland; a region that now spans the North of Finland, Sweden, Norway and parts of north-western Russia. This region is inhabited by the Indigenous Sami people. The dogs of this region adapted over thousands of years as a landrace to suit the harsh climate, work and lifestyle needs of the Sami people.
In ancient times the dogs assisted with hunting in the forests and tundra. Eventually the Sami transitioned from hunting to reindeer herding. Their dogs also transitioned from hunting companions to reindeer herding specialists.'
He has certainly perfected his technique with the DiggerDog Nail File - well done Moose! We are proud to have a Finnish Lapphund on board :)
Thank you @goldenfrenchoodle for your beautiful video and great feedback. Little Fletcher, we are happy to see such quick progress with your DiggerDog Nail File.
Here is the post from @goldenfrenchoodle:
'How amazing is this product 😍
Fletcher is near impossible to have his nails trimmed but now with the amazing @diggerdognailfile we are slowly working to grind down his long nails. We tried to product for the first time yesterday and it took him no longer than 5 minutes to work out he needs to scratch to be given the treat.
Definitely going to keep using this and hopefully fletcher will have short nails in no time.'
Thank you Ruby and Fletcher :)
