Equestrian Land Developments Pty Ltd (ELD) was founded for the sole purpose of bringing affordable earthworks to the working horse person. At ELD we provide a professional approach to all earthworks and design for equestrian needs. We pride ourselves on giving quality and personal service, value for money and sound advice to all clients. Todd's father was a Master Farrier, and he grew up on a hors

e property with spelling stables accommodating up to 120 horses at any one time. On leaving the farm, Todd pursued a career in earthmoving. Today, with over 30 years of earthmoving experience and over 1000 Arena Constructions since establishing ELD, Todd has supervised a wide spectrum of construction projects both in Australia and overseas. These include some of the largest and most complex earthworks projects on the East Coast of Australia.

Storm Season, Summer & Arena Maintenance Tips: The wet season/storm season will really highlight if you have kept up with the maintenance on your arena correctly. Keeping your draining points clear ensures the water can get off the surface as soon as possible. This includes regularly cleaning the drainage points, keeping weeds and grass off your surface and away from the edge of your arena. Anything blocking these points can result in the water staying on your arena way longer than it needs to. Our maintenance tips can be found on the website at:https://www.equestrianlanddevelopments.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/ELD_Maintenance-Tips_A4_2022.pdf The video below illustrates why it is essential to keep the drainage points clear. Keep weeds and grass out of your surface - ideally spraying them first - do not pull weeds out of the surface unless they are dead otherwise the roots can damage the layer underneath. Always mow alongside the arena ensuring cuttings are sent away from your surface. One year of seed results in seven years of weed - as the old saying goes. With predictions floating around of another low/cyclone to form over coming days/weeks make sure you are giving your arena the attention it needs prior to ensure it has the best chance of draining.
