Lenni Lou has started weaning the pups but is still sleeping in their room with them over night. They’ve got a big indoor play area for the moment that they are practicing their running and tumbling skills in. Three of them made it out the gate of the playpen overnight and were looking very pleased with themselves snuggled up together in Lenni Lou’s bed when I opened their door this morning. They are eating 3 meals of puppy mush each day with gusto -just about time to move onto a more solid puppy diet!

Look at them go! Lenni Lou's puppies even had a go at eating some food yesterday- which was a pretty messy affair, and only some of them understood it was to eat, not to walk in! Everyone is growing well, Lenni Lou is eating up big and we occassionally give a puppy or 2 a bottle to make sure they get everything they need. The pups are all well over 4 times their birth weight now and starting to turn into real live puppy dogs with little squeaks and playful but uncoordinated antics!

As you can see, the chocolate and caramel delights are taking their first peep at the world through almost fully open eyes. So much to take in. Their colours and coats are looking beautiful. This week will see them become more active and interested in everything around them. They are enjoying lolling around in the airconditioning. Hope everyone is staying cool and safe out there!

Week 1 is almost done and the puppies are growing like weeds. Pearl
Is a first time mummy and doing a great job nurturing her little family. The puppies are all caramel in colour- did you know that caramel coats can range from cream in colour through gold and the richest red. What gives them the caramel name is their beautiful rose noses and lighter human eyes (when they open them!)

Got to love a happy Mummy! Here is Pearl, aka when Mermaids Cry (daughter of Milo and Tessa) with her 4 beautiful babies- 2 girls and 2 boys. Daddy of these puppies is Tux (RC Tuxedo n Tails). At the moment all the puppies look to be lovely deep caramel, smallish mediums with lovely fleece coats. With only 4 pups we expect them to be chunky babies while Pearl is feeding them. 💙🩷💙🩷

Lenni Lou's family is standing at 9 puppies- sadly the smallest boy grew angel wings through the day yesterday. The other pups are content and healthy and doing well. Lenni Lou is coping well as a first time mummy- she has made her mumma Remy, (aka RC Sweet Dreams) & her papa Bowie, (aka Willow Lane Mr Bojangles), first time grandparents. This litter carries generations of our known and loved blood lines- you will find Crystal, Wally, Baroness Ruby, Elsa, Lola, Lorelei, Paddy, Muddy, Louie, Creme, Halle, Finnegan, Tilly, Bridie, Molly Bloom, Penny, Thanda- and the list goes on, so many memories.

Lenni Lou (RC Dream On) & Tux (RC Tuxedo n Tails) pups have made an early entry to the world! Lenni Lou is as proud as punch but was a little shocked when she went to sleep with 1 puppy and woke up with 10! Thanks very much to Ben and all the team at Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital for ensuring everyone arrived safely! Mumma and babies are thriving- we have 6 boys and 4 girls, 5 chocolate pups, 3 chocolate and cream parti pups, 1 caramel and cream Parti girl and 1 caramel boy- a box of caramel and chocolate delights! We’ve just started contacting our waiting list so get excited everyone that a wonderful 2025 is in store! We may have a parti pup available so reach out if that could be of interest to you!

Lotte's pups are having their last few sleeps at Rocky Creek- the countdown is on until they join their new families. They have had plenty of socialisation over the last few days- lots of visitors and lots of things to explore. Pepper, mother of our last litter, is visiting for a few days and has taken on the role of second mother to the pups- they love it and she does take advantage of enjoying some of their food and destuffing some of their puppy toys! Have wonderful lives little puppies- they are sure to bring lots of Happy New Years to their families in 2025.

And so this is Christmas - riding in on a steam train in a crazy mix of joy, tears, hopes, fears, highs and lows. May you know love and peace all through the season and have time to hold close those nearest and dearest to you. We are grateful for the love and support from family and friends and send out gratitude to our wonderful guardian families, all the fur and human members of our big Rocky Creek Vineyard Labradoodle family and to all the wonderful team Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital. The pups have had a very busy week. They went to visit Dr Ryan at Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital for vaccinations, health checks and microchips- all the puppies were very brave! They’ve had visits over several days and Lotte’s family also visited the pups today and took Lotte home. Happy retirement to Lotte, thank you for 10 beautiful puppies and thank you Bella, Ben and family for always loving Lotte. The pups are Christmas ready- more visits and lots of playtime coming up!

Hope everyone is staying cool out there! The puppies are very happy in air conditioned comfort- hopefully it will be cooler this evening and first thing in the morning for them to have a little outdoor time. They are eating 3 meals per day, Lotte has pretty much stopped feeding them and they are very engaged with eating food from their bowl. As you can see they have been having photo posing lessons 101 over the last few weeks- and they are starting to get their Christmas on!

So this is the week that they really have become 'live' puppy dogs- dancing around their playpen, eating puppy food like they've done it all their life, starting to sleep without Lotte in their room, playing with toys and watching what the big dogs are getting up to outside. Lotte still takes every opportunity to feed them through the day and they are loving that as well as her motherly supervision of them!

Oops, nearly forgot to post these little darlings- these pics are from the weekend. They've all opened their eyes but still spend most of their time in a milky coma. Doesn't matter that its been a few days of heat and tropical rain because the puppies are cosied up with Lotte in airconditioned comfort. Can't wait to see them really come to life over the next week

The countdown is on and the puppies are packing their bags to go home. They’ve had blistering heat and lots of rain and humidity this weekend with early mornings and evenings outdoors listening to kookaburras and cicadas, and daytime indoors with exciting activities like manicures, ear cleans, weights, playing in the big dog’s room with balls and toys and with the humans. Also enjoyed tearing up some newspaper while shut inside- they were pretty pleased with their efforts!! Get ready for us families- we will be there soon!!
